MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
CORPORATE
Full Membership: Revenues must be derived from business operations in at least one of the designated divisions and at least 50% must be from sources outside the parent or affiliated companies. Pavement Marking Division (PMD): Installation, maintenance or removal of pavement markings. Traffic Services Division (TSD): Installation, rental and/or servicing of temporary traffic control zones. Sign Manufacturing Division (SMD): Installation, maintenance or sales of traffic signs. Manufacturers & Suppliers Division (MSD): Manufacturers or suppliers of traffic control devices, roadway safety features and/or related materials. Guardrail Services Division (GSD): Installation and/or maintenance of roadside safety features. Affiliate Membership (AFL): Firm must, as its primary business, be a provider of roadway safety services and devices. [NOTE: Cannot qualify for any other membership category]
Traffic Engineering & Design Firm (TFIRM): Firm must provide professional transportation engineering, planning and design services to government agencies and/ or private industry. [NOTE: Cannot qualify for any other membership category]
International Membership (INT): Firm must meet qualifications of Full or Traffic Engineering and Design firm Membership and not have an office or do business within the U.S.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
INDIVIDUAL
Manufacturers Rep Member (MREP): To qualify as an MREP a person must be a self-employed individual and must represent, but not stock or distribute, the products of at least one (1) ATSSA member company; or as an MREP Firm, an entity must represent, but not stock or distribute, the products of at least one (1) ATSSA member firm, company or business entity. Supplemental Division Rep Member (SDREP): A full-time employee of a Full Member company that is designated as a representative in an alternate division. The Full Member company must conduct substantial business in the alternate division(s) to qualify and no more than one rep from each primary geographic location of the Full Member may join each division. Individual Consultant Member (ICON): Must be a self-employed individual who provides professional services to the roadway safety industry or transportation agency in the areas of accident reconstruction, expert witness, accident analysis or the design and/or inspection of traffic control plans. [NOTE: Cannot qualify for any other membership category]
Instructor Member (INST): Must have a current instructor certificate from ATSSA. [NOTE: Cannot qualify for any other membership category]
Associate Member (ASC): Must be a full-time employee of either a Full, Affiliate, International, or Traffic Engineering and Design Firm Member company. Public Agency (PA): To qualify as a Public Agency Member of this association, an entity must be a public agency at the federal, state, county or local level, a utility company, or a college/ university and must not be eligible for membership in a Full member category, or a person must be either a full-time employee of a public agency at the federal, state, county or local level, or a full time employee of a utility company, or a college/university and must not be an employee of or have a fiduciary or pecuniary interest in any legal entity which is eligible for membership in any other category.
