MESABI EAST YOUTH HOCKEY NEWSLETTER THE MEYHA TAKES PRIDE IN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE OUR AREA YOUTH WITH THE ABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN MINNESOTA'S MOST HISTORICAL SPORT . HERE, PLAYERS LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF HOCKEY AS WELL AS THE LIFE LONG LESSONS OF TEAMWORK, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY AND SELF-DISCIPLINE, ALL WHILE STAYING PHYSICALLY FIT . PARENTS AND PLAYERS ENJOY THE QUALITY TIME SPENT WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND THE LIFE LONG FRIENDSHIPS THAT ARE FORMED.

Say it isn’t so.... The season is half over! A busy January and early February at the arena with all of our home tournaments! GO GIANTS!! Please consider claiming DIBS and working other levels, let’s give back to each other!

#HDM2015: Hockey Day Minnesota, Saturday, January 17th, 2015 What a GREAT DAY for Hockey in Hoyt Lakes, MN!! Our own Hoyt Lakes arena will enjoy a hopping day chalked full of games! 9am: Mesabi East Mites v Hibbing 11am: Mesabi East Squirts v. Grand Rapids Orange 1pm: Eveleth-Gilbert/Mesabi East Bantam Bs v. Grand Rapids 3pm: Mesabi East PeeWees v. Grand Rapids

7pm: MN Iron Rangers v. Dryden Ice Dogs Our Bantam A’s and the High School team play in EG at the Hipp. The next day has additional games, as do the following 3 weekends (see the tourney schedule on page 1). Check the website calendar for schedules and come on down and cheer on our GIANTS players!
Matt Christiansen is inducted into the UMD Bulldogs Hall of Fame on #HDM2015. A number of ME hockey players and their families will be heading down to support the Bulldogs and cheer extra loud for this hometown hockey player in his success, as he is honored for a great career in hockey.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We could use more players at the Pops/Termites level, this is Preschool1st grade, typically. Please talk to everyone you know (all ages!) to promote Giants hockey!! Registrations have closed for this season, but please let people interested know that registration will be open during the Summer of 2015. Keep your eye on our website for details!
PLEASE SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR FREE, “LEARN TO SKATE” PROGRAM! SEE WEBSITE OR CALL ACE COORDINATOR AARON UNDELAND 218-742-2188 Kathy and Aaron Undeland have been busy working to get pictures of all the hockey levels and have uploaded what they have so far to a Shutterfly website, which can easily be shared. To share the site, we simply need your email. Please send the email address for the “invite” to: [email protected] You will need to create a Shutterfly account (a very simple and free process). From there, you can save the pictures on your own computer or device, order prints, photo albums, etc… Pictures in the Photo Gallery on our Mesabi East website are coming soon – check often!
