When: May 14-15, 9am-4pm (1 hr Lunch) Where: Millet, AB Ages: (6-9) & (10-18) Cost: $45 Camp Introduction The purpose of the Prospects Academy Spring Camp is to teach the fundamentals as well as the advanced skills of baseball to various age levels, helping each participant to better understand the game both mentally and physically for the upcoming season. Joining us will also allow players to further develop individual skills through instruction, individual and multiplayer drills and game settings as well as interaction with coaches on the field in a great camp setting, players will work hard but have fun doing so.
About the Prospects Academy Prospects Baseball Academy brings in talented and driven athletes from across Canada and immerses them in a college-style atmosphere, professional training program & 100 game travel schedule throughout western Canada and the northern US over 11 months with the goal of not only giving them the chance to play college baseball but preparing the athlete with the skills, knowledge, and mentality necessary to be an impact player throughout their college careers. The Prospects Academy has grown out of the Alberta Collegiate Baseball Foundation (ACBF) program which for the past 10 years has provided area athletes premier training and facilities and placed over 50 players into US and/or Canadian Colleges, with many receiving considerable scholarship funding, as well as 2 players that have made it into MLB Organizations at the Minor League level.
Camp Instructors Cam Houston, Head Coach Prospects Academy: After an All-American playing career at Garden City CC and Ft. Hays State University, Cam returned to Canada to begin his coaching career with the VIBI Mariners of the CCBC before leading both the Spruce Grove White Sox and St Albert Cardinals to Midget AAA National Championship appearances in 4 years as Head Coach. Since it’s beginning in 2009 Cam has been at the helm of the Prospects Academy helping players follow his path to success in college Baseball.
Sean Erikson, Assistant Coach Prospects Academy: After a successful amateur pitching career including nd
appearances for Team BC and twice being named 2 Team All-BC, Sean had his college career aborted due to a serious arm injury. Not letting injury dull his passion for the game Sean began his coaching career as head coach of the Grande Prairie Reds Midget program before moving on to positions with Team Alberta, Spruce Grove White Sox Midget AAA, and the Head Job with the St Albert Cardinals Midget AAA team last season. Sean joined the Prospects Academy in the fall of 2009.
