General Rules 1. Applicant must be at least 16 years of age and not more than 25 years of age as of the day of the contest. 2. Applicant must not have been a prior Oakley Rodeo Queen. 3. Winning contestants must plan to attend and reign over the ENTIRE OAKLEY RODEO AND CELEBRATION. 4. Applicant cannot have ever been married or have children. 5. Winning contestants must be available for Pre/Post Oakley Rodeo radio, television, parades, and other public appearances, as scheduled by the committee throughout the entire rodeo season. (Dates to be determined, winning royalty will be notified as soon as possible.) 6. Winning contestants must agree to represent the Oakley Rodeo from the day of coronation through the selection of the new Oakley Rodeo Royalty. 7. Winning contestants must represent Oakley at the following rodeos: Pleasant Grove, Lehi and Coalville and any other rodeo or event of their choice to represent the Oakley Rodeo and Celebration. If a winning contestant cannot attend the above mentioned rodeos as Oakley Rodeo Royalty, excusals must be approved by the Oakley Rodeo Queen Committee. 8. If for any reason winning contestants cannot fulfill these obligations through the entire Oakley Independence Day Rodeo all prizes must be returned to the Oakley Rodeo Committee immediately and may forfeit their right to compete in the Oakley Rodeo Pageant in the future. Should the Queen be unable to fulfill obligations all prizes and crown, etc., shall be forfeited to the first runner up, then second runner up, alternate, etc. at the committee’s discretion. 9. We encourage applicants to try out for other contests and hold other titles. We are willing to work with applicants who hold other titles and have additional obligations. 10. Winning contestants must provide their own transportation to and from all activities. 11. Must be a Utah resident.
Each contestant will be judged in the following categories: appearance, speech, impromptu, personal interview and horsemanship. SPEECH: During the competition you will be required to deliver a 2-½ minute speech on any topic. HORSEMANSHIP APPEARANCE: Western attire of your choice. Sequins, leather, embellishments, rhinestones, embroidery, etc. are all welcomed. Only western-style jeans should be worn during the pageant. Chaps are not permitted during the contest. HORSEMANSHIP: Horsemanship pattern can be viewed by clicking HERE. INSIDE APPEARANCE: Dresses are required for the indoor portion of the competition and should be of a western style. Skirts, blouses, jackets, dresses, vests and accessories such as belts, buckles, hats, and boots should all be a western style. A variety of sleeve lengths and collar styles are allowed. Sleeveless or revealing necklines are not permissible. Blouses should be a western, long-sleeved style. Revealing transparent blouses are not allowed.

[email protected] Oakley PRCA Rodeo Queen Pageant APPLICATION/CONTRACT: I hereby attest to the fact that as a contestant in the Miss Rodeo Oakley Pageant I am not less than 16 years of age and not more than 25 years of age as of May 23, 2015. I have never been married nor have children. If I should attain the Miss Rodeo Oakley title, I will remain unmarried during the official title reign. I will attend and reign over the entire Oakley Independence Day celebration. I will also make myself available to the committee for radio, television, and other public appearances as an ambassador for the celebration. If I am unable to fulfill the duties of Miss Oakley Rodeo Queen or Attendant I will forfeit my title and all prizes and will be replaced by the next qualified contestant at the discretion of the Oakley Rodeo Committee. I promise to comply with all rules and regulations pertaining to the Miss Rodeo Oakley pageant. I will hold harmless the City of Oakley, Oakley Rodeo Committee and pageant officials in the event of any injury occurring during my participation in the pageant or subsequent activities. I will conduct myself in a manner befitting rodeo royalty and agree to adhere to the committee’s directions and requirements. I understand that I will be required to provide my own appropriate apparel for all activities throughout my reign. I will provide my own horse for all activities requiring such. Should I win, I agree to represent the Oakley Rodeo from the day of coronation until the selection of the new Oakley Royalty. I also understand that I am to have all appearances approved by the committee prior to committing myself to those appearances. I understand that I am responsible for the Miss Oakley Rodeo Crowns. The crowns are traveling crowns and if lost, stolen, or damaged I will replace it at the cost of $750.00 for the Queen’s crown or $150.00 for the Attendant’s crown. I understand that the crowns will be passed on to the new royalty the following year. I also understand that the chaps and horse parade drapes are traveling and I will not alter them in any way and will be responsible for any damage, loss or replacement. All attendant crowns and horse parade drapes shall be returned no later than August 15. The Queen crown, chaps and horse parade drape shall be returned immediately preceding the crowning of the new Oakley Royalty the following year.
