Mobile Confined Space Entry and Rescue Trainer

The HTC Safety Training trailer was built to provide a variety of confined space entry and rescue challenges. Based upon the OSHA standard for confined space rescue the openings and passages are typically 24” diameter. The trailer is separated into three separate chambers with multiple means of access and egress into each. The forward compartment serves as an equipment storage area and has two 24” access points into either the center or rear chamber. There is also a 16” x 12” boiler entry at the rear opening. The rear chamber is divided into three sub-chambers which provide access via a 24” pipe, passage through a 24” x 16” opening in a baffle, and a 24” square bottom opening into

the upper chamber. The center chamber is accessible both horizontally and vertically. The 35” manway through the top is equipped with a fixed ladder for climbing, or entrants may be lowered by use of a tripod and winch. There is also an 18” diameter adapter. Two 24” diameter accesses are also available into the center chamber. The entrances are located with one at floor level and the second at 24” above floor level. All three chambers can be used concurrently to increase the amount of time students are actively involved in training. The trailer is also equipped with two davit arm stations for conducting simulated fall-arrest retrieval rescue evolutions.
