THE SERIES vs. MOUNT: NJCU leads, 23-19 and has won the last three meetings. LAST MEETING: On March 4, NJCU swept the Dolphins in Riverdale, NY, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20 in the second match of a Skyline Quad. Patryk Rusznica hit a sizzling .636 with seven kills and no errors and stuffed four blocks with two aces. Bez Arslani had eight kills, seven digs and four blocks and Kenny Lisk hit .417 with five kills. Joe Ecock led MSV with a match-high 12 kills and Michael Sin dished 23 assists. Timothy Kolodny had 11 digs. LAST TIME OUT: On Sunday, NJCU dropped a 3-0 neutral decision to #14 Kean University (25-19, 25-23, 28-26) before downing Sage College, 23-25, 25-19, 2521, 26-24. Arslani had his fourth 20-kill performance of the season in the win and Kenny Lisk slammed 13 winners to move into sixth place in school history in kills. Justin Beaumont became the fourth player in school history to distribute 2,000 career assists in the loss to Kean, despite being a part-time setter. WHAT’S AT STAKE: With a win tonight, NJCU will clinch the No. 3 seed in next weekend’s Skyline Conference Tournament and face No. 2 seeded Ramapo College in the semifinals. With a loss, the Knights would face top-seeded Kean. NJCU lost twice to both potential opponents this year. NJCU holds the tie-breaker over Sage with a win tonight. NJCU defeated Sage in four sets, but lost in five to the Gators, to give the Knights a better head-to-head sets winning percentage. KENNY LISK APPRECIATION NIGHT: Tonight is Senior Night 2012 and the Gothic Knights will celebrate the career of Kenny Lisk. For more on Lisk, see today’s ‘Inside the Athlete’ feature. JUST NAME THE AWARD AFTER HIM: Rookie sensation Bez Arslani was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season yesterday after averaging 5.86 points, 4.86 kills, 3.57 digs, 0.71 blocks and 0.57 aces per set. He currently ranks No. 3 in the nation in kills per set (3.97). Arslani, who was the league’s Player of the Week on March 26, set a conference record for most combined weekly awards (seven) in the same season.

He enters Senior night sixth in career kills with 946, having moved into sixth on Sunday against Sage. He needs 54 more kills to reach the 1,000-kill plateau. Lisk, who had 332 kills last year and 227 this season, has averaged 2.54 kills and a .253 hitting percentage in his career in 372 sets over 117 matches. He has contributed 1080.5 points, 444 digs, 138 blocks (27 solo, 111 assisted), and 52 aces. He has made only 31 reception errors in his career as a primary passer and his .963 passing rate is second highest in school history. He ranks fifth at NJCU in serve percentage (.934), sixth in service attempts (1296), seven in points, eighth in attacks (2340), ninth in matches played, 11 in sets played and 15th in kills per set. He has reached double figures in kills in 35 matches. • NJCU Awards: The 2010-11 winner of the Thomas M. Gerrity Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award given to the top male and female scholar-athlete at the University, he is a two-time winner of the Gothic Knight Academic Achievement Award, presented to the male and female student-athlete with the top overall grade point average—a 3.757 GPA while majoring in Chemistry. He is the first athlete, male or female, in the history of the University, to win the Gerrity and Academic Achievement Awards in the same season. In 2011, he was a Second-Team Northeast Collegiate volleyball association Metro Division selection at outside hitter. He was the NECVA Metro Division co-Player of the Week on February 15 2011 and earned selection to the All-Tournament Team on March 19 at the Wildcats Invitational at Johnson and Wales University.
