2011 CHAPTER ARTICLE WRITING COMPETITION
Ah Spring! Time to put the winter chill behind us and to reenergize ourselves. What better way to do so than by taking part in various RMA – Middle Tennessee Chapter activities and events as detailed elsewhere in this newsletter and as follows: Monday, April 11th 2011 Article Writing Competition Deadline Tuesday, April 19th Spring Fling Networking Event Wednesday, April 20th Advanced RE Cash Flow / Valuation Course with instructor, Mike Hendren
The deadline for submitting an entry in our chapter’s 2011 Article Writing Competition is Monday, April 11th. Awards will be $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $100 for third place. Awarded papers will also be automatically entered in the RMA Headquarters’ annual competition that also provides cash awards and pays the Annual Conference registration fees for top winners. ADVANCED REAL ESTATE CASH FLOW AND VALUATION COURSE
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON MEETING
This course explains the more complex issues encountered in commercial real estate lending, specifically for income-producing or investment properties. Topics include the lease review process, extraordinary rental arrangements, ground leases, advanced documentation issues, valuation using discounted cash flow models, and more complex projects. The course will be held at First Tennessee Bank, 231 Public Square, Franklin TN 37064. The instructor is none other than our very own Mike Hendren, Senior Vice President, Pinnacle Financial Partners. Our annual luncheon meeting will feature William (Bill) F. Githens, President and CEO of The Risk Management Association (RMA) discussing the value of RMA membership, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, general credit trends, and other topics of current interest. The meeting will be held at the Nashville City Club, 201 Fourth Avenue North, Nashville TN 37219.
