New Year is about new beginnings and we will be launching our new Spelling scheme of work today. This will mean a few changes, particularly for homework. The new spelling scheme of work will be accompanied by a pupil log book which pupils must bring to school every day. The book will be used at home and in school so it imperative to look after these, as replacements are very costly. Our traditional homework and spelling test have gone and have been replaced by a new way of learning spellings – so please don’t worry that there is no spelling homework set! More information will be coming to you in due course. This week we will be running a parent workshop for parents with children in nursery, reception, year 1 and year 2 at 2.00pm. This workshop will be about phonics and the new scheme of work we use to teach it. We will be providing some useful hints and tips on how to help support your child with reading and we might even have a few free things to give away. We realise that this might not suit all parents so we will be organising an evening one if there is demand for one. If you would like to attend an evening workshop please give your name to the school office. We have spaces in our nursery, both AM and PM, for children who are 3 years old or above. If you, or if you know someone, who would like to make use of their 15 hours entitlement please ask them to contact the school office for a tour. We are also taking names of children who are currently 2 years old and they will be able to attend once they turn 3.
Regards
Andrew Livingstone Interim Executive Headteacher

Well done, Murrayfield! We raised a whopping £398.05 for East Anglia Children’s Hospice through the proceeds of our ticket sales for the Christmas Nativities and Wear a Christmas Jumper day! With the other cluster schools our year 4 classes raised over £400 (and still rising!) at the Christmas Concert at the Corn Exchange.
Reminder: Breakfast Club We no longer accept walk-ins to Breakfast Club. To ensure the breakfast club is staffed and costed appropriately we operate a booking service only. All bookings and payments should be made to the school office in advance.
