New Orleans Metropolitan Area Tennis Association – Board Minutes May 8, 2012 @ MCC Meeting called to order at 12:43 by Henry. In Attendance: Chris Dazet, Henry Crocker, Bob Browning, Sandy Huston, Joey Kuchler, Kathy Hinrichs, Carla Catalano, Lori Ochsner, Lynda Santopadre, Elizabeth Hamlin and Lana Whitlow . Treasurer’s Report: Balance sheets distributed and reported by Bob. Tax return has been submitted and is available for review. Debit cards are not available for non-profit entities from Whitney Bank. League Report: (Kathy) TriLevel registration closes on May 13th. Mixed League is down by 2 teams. Registration closes May 9th. Flex League registration opened May 1st for Summer league With league numbers down nationwide, proactive marketing strategies being implemented by USTA for Fall. Sandy to send email to NOMATA’s Carnival database regarding league opportunities. Junior Spring League ends May 26th. Marketing & Media (Lynda) • Credit with Times Picayune for advertising. Discussion regarding best method for use. Consideration of Adult Workshop to invite new players to community. Carla and Elizabeth working on Flex signage.
Website/Facebook Report: (Carla) ·● Discussion regarding Facebook and NOMATA site in promoting Flex, Mixed and Tri Level league information. New Business: Discussion regarding 2013 State Tournament Bids. Kristy Cohn and friends to help with 18+ Tournament estimated at 500 – 600 people requiring 50+ courts. Chris to organize 40+ Mixed Tournament for September, 2013, requiring approximately 15 courts.
Kathy proposed storage facility for NOMATA equipment which passed unanimously. Selected Horizon at 4545 Veterans at Clearview for a $60/month climate controlled unit. Lana is requesting that each member make a list of responsibilities regarding their committee or role for NOMATA. She will put together the ‘job descriptions’ for each position and submit to the board for review and suggestions.
No board meetings for summer months of June and July. We will reconvene in early August. Henry will provide meeting dates well in advance. Henry motioned and meeting adjourned at 2:10.
