Newark High School Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria Checklist Athletes: Must have been a graduate of Newark High School for five years prior to being nominated. Please check which of the following criteria the nominee has met. MUST MEET FIVE (5) OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: _____ Selected an All Ohio 1st,2nd, 3rd team, Special Mention, Honorable Mention _____ 1st team All League/Conference for multiple years/multiple sports _____ Was a member of a State Championship team or an individual State Champion _____ Was a member of an All League/Conference team _____ Performed an extraordinary feat while at Newark High School such as a State Record, League/Conference/School Record. Participation in a State Coaches All-Star game _____ Was or is a professional athlete _____ Participated in college athletics _____ Achieved outstanding recognition/success outside of Newark High School or Ohio High School Athletic Association such as a college, conference, or national record _____ Make significant contributions in their chosen field of endeavors or contributed to their community or the Newark High School community in one or more of the following: athletics, education, business, government service or other humanitarian causes. Coaches: Must have been out of coaching position for more than five years and coached in the Newark system for at least ten years and/or been a head coach at Newark High School for at least five years. MUST MEET THREE (3) OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: _____ Has a winning percentage as a coach _____ Honored by peers or media at a district or state level _____ Coached a League/Conference or District champion team or individuals for multiple years _____ Make significant contributions in their chosen field of endeavors or contributed to their community or the Newark High School community in one or more of the following: athletics, education, business, government service or other humanitarian causes Honorary Membership: A supporter of Newark High School athletics who has had outstanding accomplishments in or made contributions in one or more of the following areas: athletics, education, business, service to school or community, or other humanitarian causes
