Newsletter 24 – March 20th 2015 Easter Service Our Easter service will be taking place on Tuesday 24th March, 9.05am in church. The service will be led by Reception, Years 3 & 4 pupils and the whole school will be joining in the service. Please join us at this very important service.

St. Aidan’s Enterprise Club Pupils attending the Enterprise Club have been making some wonderful gifts relating to Easter and birthdays which they will be selling at the Easter Service in Church on Tuesday 24th March and also at the Easter Bingo on Wednesday 25th March. We hope you will support their efforts!

Extreme Reading Competition Congratulations to Riley Hepple, Year 2 and Katie Firth, Year 1 for winning the Extreme Reading Competition. Thanks again for the fantastic photographs of the children reading in some very unusual places! The photographs are still available to view at the gallery on our website, www.staidanscep.co.uk.

Cherry Tree Cricket Club We are actively looking to expand our junior section at the club. Having received over £50,000 of funding from the England and Wales Cricket Board for a new 3-lane net facility as well as a non-turf (astroturf) wicket, we are now eager for more children in the local area to access organised cricket at a club. We currently have teams at U9, U11 (x2 teams), U13 (x2 teams) and U15. As well as these sides, we have a younger group (Y1 upwards) that have a fun and safe introduction to cricket in an environment where they can (hopefully) develop their skills and a love for the game. The children will be coached by a team of fully-qualified volunteers. In addition, children will have the chance to work with our South African overseas player/coach, Ferisco Adams. Our outdoor training sessions take place on Thursday evenings (6:15pm-8pm) with our first net taking place on 9.4.15. It costs £3 per session or £30 for the whole season. The address for our ground is: 459 Preston Old Rd, Blackburn (next to the Woodlands United Reformed Church).

Easter Bingo The PTFA annual Easter Bingo night will take place on Wednesday 25th March from 6.008.00pm in the school hall. The first game will start at 6.15pm. Those who have been to one of these events will know how much the children (and adults!) enjoy it. If you’ve not been before, why not come along this year? Everyone is welcome to attend.
