30 April 2018

Thank you to everyone who visited the Marks and Spencer garage over the weekend and to Mrs Patel for organising the event. Thank you to Ms Fassnidge, Mrs Montgomery and Mrs Ferguson who with myself who helped out. The event was held to raise money for the school but in particular to help fund the trim trail. We are still a long way off, but every penny makes a difference.

Quiz Challenge

Last Wednesday, two teams from Holborough Lakes battled it out during the ‘Quiz Club’ Maths area heats, that took place at Valley Invicta Primary School at Kings Hill with Voldemort and Harry Potter (Only Joking!) Team One consisted of Jasmine, Cade, Myles and Emilia whilst Team Two had Evia, Mya, Kain and Reanna. The questions were all very difficult, but we Persevered as a team to do our very best, (as we have always been taught to do) resulting in us coming 4th and 6th place. “I found the arithmetic hard, but it was fun and challenging at the same time” (Mya Yr 4) “It was pretty hard at the start but it became easier and I felt less nervous as the quiz progressed” (Kain Year 5) Safe Guarding Here is some handy advice for any parents who would like some advice on setting security controls on their child’s phone.

To mark Safer Internet Day (6 February 2018), Vodafone has teamed up with Parent Zone to teach parents about digital resilience and online safety. The new Digital Life Skills workshop will focus on three key areas for young people: confident digital communications, capable use of online tools and critical thinking.
