Do you ever have those moments where you just need some affirmation about life, some reassurance that everything is going to be ok? Things get a little crazy at times; unplanned or planned changes take place, we are overwhelmed with busyness, tragedy or heartache comes our way, ____________ (you fill in the blank). There is a way, a better and most excellent way that we can be reassured in life. It is in a passage of Luke 24 we discover the significance of the riseneness of Jesus. Here two people encounter the risen Jesus as they walk along the road on their journey toward a place called Emmaus. Their lives have been turned upside down over the last several days as followers of Jesus. Everything they have been taught has come true yet it is still hard to understand and accept. Now, they are here in the presence of the risen Jesus and their eyes and downcast spirit do not recognize Him. Ever felt this way? You know God’s truths and still cannot seem to recognize Jesus in the middle of the chaos, even though He is there. Come join us this week as we seek the heart of God in connecting with our hearts in all of life, regardless of our circumstances. It is here we too can say “He Has Risen Indeed” and understand the depth of these words personally and share the greatest news ever. May your hearts burn as the Lord reveals himself to you! (Luke 24:13-35) Yours In Christ, Rick

5th Sunday Offering for the Cleveland County Rescue Mission this Sunday, April 30th. Please mark your gifts accordingly.
The Missions Committee has chosen two ministries to support that are very engaged in mission work. We wanted to support the type of hands-on-missions that are interacting directly with people’s lives and ministering to immediate needs that can make a difference. Locally, we want to support the Cleveland County Rescue Mission with financial and hands-on assistance. On the foreign field, we want to support The King’s Business Mission (Chris and Donna Keeter) in Honduras. We have supported this mission in the past with participants on Mission Teams, monetary donations, and with items and baked goods for their fundraisers. The Missions Committee voted to support each of these missions at $200.00 per month for the next twelve months. Our intent is that the entire church can be involved as we become more informed about needs and follow the Great Commission to reach people in our own community and around the world. Our pastor has invited the Keeters to share with the congregation how God is working in the areas they serve in Honduras. They are scheduled to be here on Sunday, June 25.
