News & Announcements The following recommendation from the Manual and Policy Committee will be presented and voted on at the next quarterly Regular Business meeting on Sunday morning, March 4th in the Fellowship Hall, during the Sunday School hour. Job descriptions have been updated by the Building and Grounds (Caretaker) and Day Care (day care positions) Committees. Copies of these job descriptions are enclosed in this newsletter and are also in the Church Office. The Manual and Policy Committee, in conjunction with the Building and Grounds and Day Care Committees, recommend these updated job descriptions be placed in the Church Policy and Procedure Manual.
Lenten Community Services
Love Offering In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we are taking up a love offering through the month of February to show our love for Seth and his family by helping them with their expenses. We are setting a goal of $2500. Mark your envelopes: “Seth Strickland Love Offering” ____________________

You are invited to participate in a 40-day spiritual pilgrimage of Lent every Wednesday beginning February 22 through April 4th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Services are at noon followed by a light lunch at a cost of $5. Next Wednesday’s speaker is Rev. Ann Duncan, Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church.
It’s Cookie Time! If you would like to donate cookies to send to our college students and military, please bring them to the office by next Wednesday, Feb. 22.
30-Hour Famine Our youth will be participating in a 30-Hour Famine beginning Friday, 5 p.m. thru Saturday, 5 p.m. Help fight World Hunger by contributing to the Honduras Missions Project (This is the project for a new church start in Honduras that is currently meeting under a tree.) The proceeds we send will help that church and the people they are reaching.
Congratulations to Wayne and Judy Hall on the birth of their granddaughter! Misti and Dwayne Humphries are the proud parents of Josie Magdalene Humphries born February 8, 2012. We pray God’s blessings on this newborn and her family!
