Thursday 31 August Withdrawal deadline 2nd term school year 2017-2018 The final deadline for withdrawals for the 2nd school term (January thru March 2018) is: Friday 8 September 2017
Dear parents, Last week the information nights for Jip & Janneke and groups 1 thru 8 took place at the HSL. We welcomed many parents to these sessions. On these occasion the teachers provided information about the Dutch and English language curriculum, the IPC and the learning objectives that will be your child's main focus this school year. In addition a lot of practical information was shared. We hope the sessions gave you a good idea of what is expected of your child or children this school year. In case you have any queries remaining you are always welcome to contact your child's teacher. You have been requested by email to provide us with your child's medical records via Docs and to submit the parental consent form.
We kindly ask that you complete these forms correctly as soon as possible and submit the undersigned consent form to your child's teacher. It is highly important that we have the complete and correct contact details for parents and a third party. Additionally we would also like to receive the parent information session form if that is still outstanding. Next Friday is a Public Holiday due to the Hari Raya Haji celebrations and school will be closed. We would further like to remind you that during the weekend our school is closed to visitors, parents or students. If your child left something behind at school it cannot be collected during the weekend. With kind regards, Meino Meines HSL Principal
The latest dates for notice of withdrawal from the school for the school year 2017 – 2018 are set on: • • •
Friday 8 September 2017 for the second term Friday 19 January 2018 for the third term Monday 16 April 2018 for the first term of the school year 2018-2019
If notice of withdrawal has not been received before or on the stipulated date for notice of withdrawal, the HSL will claim the ensuing school term fee.
As in previous years Prêt-a-Portret offers the option to have family portraits taken.

Each year the HSL and some of the secondary education institutions in Singapore host a series of information sessions together. These sessions make it easier to make a solid and wellfounded choice for an international secondary school in Singapore. This year there will be information sessions for the Overseas Family School (OFS), United World Colleges Southeast Asia (UWCSEA), Canadian International School (CIS) and the German European School (GESS). The OFS, UWCSEA and GESS all offer Dutch language as part of their curriculum. CIS offers Dutch classes as extracurricular activity. The information sessions are meant for group 8 children and their parents. 1. OFS: Monday 25 September, 7 pm. Venue: HSL The group 8 students will go on a field trip to the OFS on Wednesday 25 October as well. 2. UWCSEA: Thursday 28 September, 7.30 pm. Venue: HSL 3. CIS: Thursday 28 September, 9.15-11.15 am. Venue: CIS On this morning the group 8 students will also visit the CIS. You as parent are also warmly invited to join the event. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to talk to the educational admissions coordinator. Would you please let the group teacher know if you are joining us? The children will take the bus from school. You as a group 8 parent can join us on the bus. Please inform the group teacher if you are. Address: Lakeside CIS campus, 7 Jurong West Street 41, Singapore 649414. Meeting point: David Foster Auditorium. 4. GESS: Monday 2 October, 7.30pm Venue: HSL The group 8 students will go on a field trip to the GESS on Wednesday 1 November as well.
