“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). No Reason to Be Thankful?
“I don’t need to thank anyone. Everything I have I worked for. I earned it.” “Me? I am the product of a dysfunctional home. I’m dysfunctional. I don’t have anything to be thankful about.” “I’ve just learned I have cancer. Do you expect me to be thankful?” In everything? God tells His children, “In every thing give thanks” (1 Thess. 5:18).
