TOWN ORDINANCE DOGS ROAMING ON PRIV ATE OR TOWN OWNED PROPERTY Section 2: Dogs on Public Property In no event shall any dog be allowed, either leashed or unleashed, on any beaches, parks, Athletic fields an/or playgrounds owned or maintained by the Town of Clinton or any agency thereof, except in designated areas (See Section 5e). Dogs shall be allowed in designated areas on public property other than beaches, parks, athletic fields and/or playgrounds only if such dog is properly on a leash of no more than ten (10) feet in length, held by the owner or keeper of such dog. Section 3a. Exception for Dogs Assisting the Handicapped A dog which accompanies a handicapped person as an assistant or guide dog, and is properly leashed or on proper restraint, shall be allowed on any public property pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 46a-64. Penalty: Any person who violates this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of $50.00 (fifty dollars) and a fine of $75.00 (seventy five) dollars for each subsequent violation. For the Health, Safety and General Well-being of everyone who either uses or visits our Athletic Facilities, Dogs are NOT Allowed at the Peters Complex, Indian River Complex, on the Town Beach or on the Eliot L.L.
