NCCYHA STEELERS Tournament will consist of four divisions: Squirt $725 Pee Wee $750 Bantam $775 Midget $800 No Admission Charge Food & Beverage Concessions on-site Tournament Information: Schedule To accommodate a variety of teams, local teams may be asked to play games Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening (March 6-8) if available. Teams will be contacted to verify availability prior to final schedule posting. Tournament games could begin as early as 11:00 AM on Friday. Teams must be available to play at that time. Do not ask for no early Friday Games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will repeat that in blue– because of an added division we must start early Friday!!!!!!!! When schedule is posted, no changes will be made. Registration All teams must complete the tournament application. Full payment must be received at least 10 days prior to the tournament (or certified check submitted prior to the first game) at the discretion of the tournament committee. Team Roster: Teams must provide a signed/stamped/validated USA Hockey roster with this tournament application or prior to the team’s first tournament game. Teams without a roster will not be permitted to play. Teams must provide 12 game sheet stickers with the application or complete the game sheet 1 hour prior to each game. All team players, coaches and managers must sign in at least 1 (one) hour prior to the start of your 1st game only. Head Coach must sign all score sheets prior to the game. Jerseys: Home and Away jerseys are recommended. If the team does not have two sets of jerseys, please alert the tournament director prior to the tournament. Each team is required to provide an adult for the penalty box. All players on the bench and penalty box must wear a protective helmet/face mask. Per USA Hockey, when players are in the locker room it must be supervised. Do not leave any valuables in the locker room. NCCYHA is not liable for lost or stolen items. Rules 2018 NCCYHA Tournament is sanctioned by USA Hockey. USA Hockey rules and regulations will apply unless noted below. All player equipment must meet USA Hockey standards. Each team is responsible for any damages done by their players in the locker room, hallways and hotels during the tournament. Coaches and managers are required to ensure the cleanliness of the locker room prior to leaving the area. Protests & forfeits: All decisions of the tournament committee are final. Any team refusing or failing to take the ice for a scheduled game will forfeit the game and receive zero points and be ineligible to advance. No protests will be permitted. Format Games will be in round robin format with a 3 game guarantee. All games will have 3 minutes warm up. Game Times: Squirt: 12 – 12 – 10 periods Pee Wee: 12 – 12 – 12 periods
Girls: 14 – 14 – 12 periods Bantam: 14 – 14 – 12 periods All games will have curfews. All teams must be prepared to take the ice 20 minutes prior to the start of the game Mercy Rule: A running clock will apply to all games if at any time the score reaches the difference of 6 goals or more. The running clock will continue unless the score comes within a 4 goal difference. Point Structure: Each game is worth 5 points 1 point per period (split for tie score during period) 2 points for win, 1 point each team for tie score Top 2 teams in each division quality for the Championship game Tie Breakers in order: Head to head game score (only applies to 2 way ties) Plus/minus (goal differential in overall tournament play – Max differential per game is + or – 7 regardless of final score) Fewest goals allowed Fewest penalty minutes Coin toss Penalties: Squirt: Minor 1.5 Minutes Pee Wee, Girls, Bantam: Minor 2 Minutes Major penalties: 5 minutes Misconducts will be 10 minutes. Player will be suspended for the reminder of the tournament for any game penalty for fighting assessed by the referees. All other penalties will follow USA Hockey regulations as assessed by the referees. No timeouts allowed in preliminary games One (1) minute timeout allowed in Championship game Championship games: No curfew A tie will result in a 5 minute overtime period. A tie after overtime will result in a sudden death 5 minute overtime period. A tie after that period will result in a shootout. First and Second Place Teams will Receive Individual Medals, Trophies or plaques

RINK LOCATION: SUNY Fredonia Steele Hall Ice Arena From I-90 Take the I-90 to the Dunkirk/Fredonia Exit (59). After paying toll, proceed straight past Route 60 (traffic signal) until you reach Central Avenue, (third traffic signal), you are now at a “T” in the road. Turn left onto Central Avenue. Upon reaching the Fredonia State College entrance which is the next traffic signal, you will turn right. Follow the road to the first intersection “Ring Road” where you will turn right. Proceed on this long curving road to a stop sign. The parking lot will be located past the stop sign (on the left) and the entrance to the rink will be located on the left as you face the building (purple on map). Additional parking is directly behind the building (next road past the front parking lot). Enter the Atrium from the back (you can see the pool from lobby). Take the first stairway past the pool on the right (to locker rooms down the stairs). Top entrance to Rink is straight ahead, Concession stand is down the hall to the left.
