Note: All strips are cut across the width of the fabric (perpendicular to the selvages) unless noted otherwise. 1/4" seam allowance is assumed in all piecing and yardage requirements.

1. Sew one (E) 13/4" x 401/2" strip to both sides of the panel. Press toward the strips.

A. 24423 B (panel) • Keeping design centered, cut panel 34" x 401/2". B. 24425 B (blue sky print) • Cut (6) 2" strips. C. 24425 V (blue-violet sky print) • Cut (6) 21/2" strips for binding.

2. Sew one (E) 11/2" x 361/2" strip to the top and bottom of the panel. Press toward the strips. Block A 3. Strip Set A: Sew one (B) 2" strip with one (D) 2" strip. Press toward the (D) strip. Repeat to make three strip sets. Cut sets into (56) 2" x 31/2" segments.

D. 24425 W (midnight sky print) • Cut (6) 2" strips. E. 21523 Z (white tonal stars) • Cut (8) 11/2" strips. Cut (2) 11/2" x 361/2". Sew remaining six strips together end to end with diagonal seams; press. From this, cut (2) 11/2" x 501/2" strips and (2) 11/2" x 541/2" strips. • Cut (2) 13/4" strips; subcut (2) 13/4" x 401/2" strips. • Cut (6) 2" strips. Cut strips into (60) 2" x 31/2" rectangles. • Cut (3) 31/2" strips.

4. Sew two segments from step 3 together to make one four-patch unit. Press. Repeat to make twenty-eight units.

5. Sew one (E) 2" x 31/2" rectangle to both sides of one unit from step 4. Press toward the rectangles. Repeat to make 28.

6. Strip Set B: Sew one (B) 2" strip to one side of one (E) 31/2" strip. Sew one (D) 2" strip to other side of (E) strip. Press seams toward the center strip. Repeat to make three strip sets. Cut sets into (60) 2" segments.

9. Sew one (E) 2" x 31/2" rectangle to both sides of each unit from step 8. Press toward the rectangles.

10. Referring to block diagram for correct placement, sew one strip segment from step 6 to the top and bottom of the units from step 9. Press away from center.

7. Referring to block diagram for correct placement, sew one strip segment from step 6 to the top and bottom of one unit from step 5 to complete one block. Press away from center. Repeat to make twenty-eight blocks. You will have four strip segments remaining.

11. Sew six Block A with one Block B as shown to make one side border. Press. Repeat.

12. Sew eight Block A together as shown to make top border. Press. Repeat to make bottom border. Make 28 - Block A

8. Using remainder of strip set from step 3, Cut (2) 31/2" x 31/2" squares from strip set.

13. Referring to quilt image for correct placement, sew side borders to quilt. Press toward frame strips. Sew top and bottom borders to quilt. Press. 14. Sew (E) 11/2" x 541/2" strips to sides of quilt. Press toward the strips. Sew (E) 11/2" x 501/2" strips to the top and bottom of the quilt. Press toward the strips.

Finishing 1. Prepare backing using two widths with horizontal seam/s. Press seams open.

2. Layer backing, batting and quilt top. Baste and quilt as desired. 3. Trim layers even with quilt top. 4. Prepare binding using (C) 21/2" strips. Sew binding to quilt using your preferred method.
