Fort Fiber - Row of the Month - Row 3 Now Available!
Our third row is now available (featuring the dog, fire pit, and tent)! We're putting our new laser cutter to work, so if you purchase the laser cut kit, you get the pattern and pre-fused, pre-laser cut appliques that you just iron in place. All you need to do is stitch around them! From here on out, each row will be available this way, which saves a huge amount of time to reverse the image, trace each pattern, transfer it to the fusible, cut it out precisely, blah, blah, blah... Well, such a deal we have for you! For everyone who comes in tomorrow on Small Business Saturday, you'll get seven 2" finished laser cut hexies to make a flower. You'll get another 7 for every yard you purchase through December. Before you know it you'll have a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt going! Not sure how to work with hexies? Tomorrow, at 10, 12, and 2 we'll have free demos on how to do English Paper Piecing, hand pieced and machine pieced hexies, machine quilt-as-you-go hexies, plus some other really cool techniques to put these together! They make a great take-along project for those holiday trips you're taking!
Route 66 Quilt Exhibit will be up in our shop until December 5th! After 3 years of traveling, this wonderful exhibit has come back in order for us to send the quilts home. This makes us sad, so we put it up for one more wonderful week. Come by to see this 66 foot long quilted map and the quilts submitted by quilters all over the country to celebrate the Route! Hurry, though, they'll soon be packed up and sent back to their creators! For more information and to see photos of this exhibit click here. Happening Now: Bob Coonts: Art& Influence November 20, 2015 - January 10, 2016 I've long admired Bob's work, especially the paintings that incorporate elements you'd find in quilts. Bob has an exhibit at the Fort Collins Museum of Art. Here's the info:
Please join us as we celebrate the artwork and design legacy of Northern Colorado artist, Bob Coonts. Bob has asked 20 artists and graphic designers with whom he has worked with and mentored over his career. This exhibition will display Bob' recent work since 2008 and a selection of work from 20 of Bob's employees, friends and students over the years. Also, at Bas Bleu Theater, just a half of block east of us, is an exhibit of quilts by the Rocky Mountain Creative Quilt Guild. This is up until Dec. 4th.
