FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Regina Tillman, (518) 229-1548 Email: [email protected] ART AND LANDSCAPING CLASSES AT WELLINGTON’S COBLESKILL, NY – August 27, 2014 – On the heels of a successful first fundraiser for the Schoharie Valley Farm to School Project back in July, acclaimed local sculptor and established landscape designer, Jason Schultz, will again share his expertise with the public in the upcoming months. A series of “First Sunday” workshops and classes have been scheduled and will be conducted at Wellington’s Herbs and Spices, 649 Rickard Hill Road, Schoharie, NY. Preregistration is required, and a light lunch is included in each of the ticket prices. “Trash to Treasure! How to Make Whimsical Garden Art to Enhance Your Landscape” will be held on the Sunday’s of September 7th as well as November 2nd, beginning at 12:30 PM and ending at 3:00 PM. The general admission price is $35 in advance or with preregistration, and $40 per person on the day of the workshop. In depth discussions will include how to source materials like metals and woods for use in an art project, what some simple design principles are for assembly into discernable forms and figures, and more. Plus, each attendee gets a chance to contribute to a permanent sculpture for placement at the Wellington’s Herb Garden, by finding and bringing long several pounds of reclaimed metals with them with which Mr. Schultz will demonstrate his welding techniques. Offered in between, in the month of October, is a class by Mr. Schultz entitled, “DYI Landscape Design for Small Garden Spaces”, during which attendees will be presented with pictures of his own small backyard space as examples of several inspiring design concepts anyone can use for their landscape. By popular demand, the exhibit pieces will continue to be available thru November 2nd, furthering Mr. Schultz’s potential assistance to the Schoharie Valley Farm to School Project’s fundraising campaign thru his donation to them of a portion of the sales of each art piece. His works of art have been in demand for placement in residential backyards, for professional landscaping applications, and by art collectors.
