OUR POLICIES ***Last Updated September, 15, 2014***

OUR PURPOSE Why have a church nursery? 1. For parents to be able to worship the Lord without distraction and with peace of mind. 2. To help our infants and toddlers learn and grow socially, mentally, and spiritually as they development. The Christ-loving adults who staff our nursery understand these purposes, and honestly care for the children as their own. This attitude stems from the example of Jesus Christ, and from the familial relationships that come from unity in our body. All volunteers willingly submit themselves to a background check, multiple questionnaires, and training before they come in contact with any children. Children in nursery are in the midst of a loving, protective family that will care for your children as if they were their own. We promise.

1. When signing in your child you will be given a numbered slip. This slip corresponds with your child, and is necessary to pick them up again at the end of service. Please make it a priority for the person to check the child in, to also come and check them out. 2.       Please include any special instructions or allergies your child may have at sign in. You are responsible for alternative foods if you desire that your child have a snack.  Please make sure to communicate your child's needs with the nursery staff. 3.       After the close of service please do your best to immediately come and check your child out of the nursery so that volunteers have a chance to visit with their church family as everyone else does. 4. It is necessary to sign your child out, while behind the half doors, anytime you desire to take your child out of the nursery room, even between Sunday school and service. Signing your child out will eliminate any possible confusion for a volunteer who may see a child’s name on the sign in sheet, but no actual child.       5. Please drop your child off with a clean diaper.  Our staff will then make sure your child is in a clean and dry diaper until you return.

6.       For your child’s safety, our nurseries remain locked at all times. Mothers who need to nurse their children are allowed to knock on the door, and a volunteer will allow entry. However, in all other cases please trust our volunteers to care for your children. If you desire to care for your child please do not seek to enter the nursery and care for them there, but rather check your child out and take care of them elsewhere as to not distract the workers or upset the other children. 7.       Please do not worry about bringing toys for your child, as our nurseries are well stocked with fun and age-appropriate toys that are sanitized weekly.  8.     Please label all items such as bottles, pacifiers, cups, blankets, cups, etc. before bringing them into the nursery to prevent any lost items.  9.      For the well-being of all the children and staff in the nursery, we cannot accept a child with a fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea, pink eye or any other signs of contractable illness. If a child is recovering from illness please make sure that they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours before you drop them off.  10.    The nursery staff is not allowed to administer medication to children. If

you choose to drop your children off in nursery please cooperate with these procedures and ask any questions to those serving in the nursery. They will be glad to address any concerns you may have and take care of your needs.

May God Bless our Families
