XXIII NW ARKANSAS MOUNTAIN BIKE CHAMPIONSHI CHAMPIONSHIPS DEVIL’S EVIL’S DEN STATE PARK SEPTEMBER 17TH TH, 2011 PEDALHEADS!!!!! !!!!! This year the park will celebrate 23 2 years of mountain biking. Saturday will be reserved for the multi lap race (Area A) and the trials (pool area). Registration for the race will be Friday night and Saturday morning at the Visitor Information Center. The awards and SWAG GIVE-AWAY GIVE will be Saturday night at the café’s pavilion along with ice cream and food for all participants. All events are spectator friendly. And remember, this is a point series event for the Arkansas Mountain Bike Championship Series. Series This race is USA Cycling sanctioned (Pending). USA Cycling rules will be followed. CAT I must have a USA Cycling license to compete and you ou must have your license at registration. registration Annual llicenses icenses will be sold at registration. CAT 2 and CAT 3 may race with a temporary license for an additional $5. All ll participants must also hold an AMBCS license, license which is $5. BMW OF NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, ARKANSAS THE FRIENDS OF DEVIL'S DEN STATE PARK INC., THE BANK OF FAYETTEVILLE, TAILWIND CYCLISTS, JACK & JO ANNE MILLER, MILLER THE SCOTT /DEFOLIART CHARITIBLE MOUNTAIN BIKE FUND AND LINDSEY & ASSOCIATES REALITY have donated a combined purse of $2 $2250. ARKANSAS STATE PARKS has donated complimentary cabins and camping accommodations as race prizes. Money and prizes will be divided between the men and women CAT 1 division and CAT 1 trials divisions. TAILWIND CYCLISTS’ $200 will go to the winners of the women’s and men’s CAT 2 senior division. There will be drawing drawings for spectacular items donated by the race supporters. Yes, from 6pm-8pm during the awards ceremony, there will be hamburgers cooked at the

cafe’s pavilion. If you don’t like burgers, bring what you do and we’ll throw it on the grill. will be that evening. Bring your own bowl... bowl YOU HAVE TO CRANK TO EAT.

The park’s campgrounds, cabins, bathhouses, café and store will be open. Normal café operating hours are from 8 8am am to 3pm. The nearest groceries and gasoline are in Winslow and West Fork (20 minutes) minutes). Cabin and camping reservations (1-479-761(1 3325) can be made daily from 8am to 5pm. All campsites are reservable. We expect to be at 100% occupancy; don’t be left out.

FRIDAY 6:30 to 9:00pm Race Registration: Meet at the audio visual room located at the Visitor Information Center. AN AMBCS LICENSE IS REQUIRIED FOR ALL RIDERS!! CAT 1 must ALSO have a USA Cycling license. THERE IS A $5 ADDITIONAL CHARGE IF YOU DO NOT HOLD AN ANNUAL USA CYCLING LICENSE

SATURDAY 7:00am to 12:00noon Registration: Same place as Friday night - Visitor Information Center Center’s audio visual room.

RACE TIMES AND INFORMATION The races will begin in Campground A. The course will include Racer’s Hill. One lap is approximately 5.6 miles. 9:00am: All CAT 3,, Clydesdales and juniors, except junior expert. expert CAT 3 women and juniors 12 and under will ride one lap. Remaining CAT 3’s,, Clydesdales, and 13 and above juniors will ride 2 laps. 11:00am: All CAT 2 and single speed. speed Cat 2 men and single speed: 3 laps. Cat 2 women: 2 laps. 1:00pm: All CAT 1 including juniors. junior CAT 1 men: 4 laps.. Cat 1 women: 3 laps. 1:30pm: KID’S ’S EVENTS. Campground A: “How low can you go?” Bicycle limbo and other fun events. .

2:00pm to 3:00pm TRIALS REGISTRATION: REGISTRATION Meet in the Ridge Runner café pavilion. 3:00pm to 6:00pm OBSERVED TRIALS: TRIALS: Watch this thrilling event as skilled riders jump over man man-made made and natural objects. This event will take place next to the lake / cafe area.. Participants need to be there 15 15-minutes minutes early for a riders meeting. 6:00pm to 8:00pm Awards for the race and trial competition Also swag and food! All competitors need to meet at the café pavilion for awards, swag and food. After the trials, we are going to fire fire-up up the outside charcoal grill to cook 200 hamburgers. For homemade ice cream, you need to bring a spoon and bowl; you have to crank to eat!! PHAT TIRE BIKE SHOP will provide wrench support for the Northwest Arkansas Mountain Bike Championships. You can find them at the finish line during the race!!
