Obedience

Scripture Verse: Trust in your leaders. Put yourselves under their authority. Hebrews 13:17a (NIrV)

Devotional Thought: I remember when I was about five years old. My mom told me not to touch the iron because it was hot. I did not believe her though; I wanted to see for myself. I reached up my hand, and my fingers touched the metal of the iron; I screamed as the heat burnt my skin. The adults in your life are not out to get you or make your life boring, hard, or miserable; instead, they are leading and protecting you as God leads them. Your parents and teachers have a tough job: the Bible says that they are “keeping watch over your souls.” This means that you should listen to them and trust that what they are telling you is right and will help you become the person God has called you to be. Taking Action: Choose one person in your family to blindfold. Once they are blindfolded, lead them around the house or yard. You can do this by holding his/her hand (little ones) or calling directions (older ones). Show your family members that they can trust you and be willing to trust each one of them as well.
