Reverend Paul Howard Orr was born in Somerville, AL on March 16,

Processional

1944, to the late Wilma and Arlene Emerson Orr. He departed this life on May 9, 2016 at Whitesburg Gardens in Huntsville, AL.

Musical Selection

Paul graduated from Morgan Training School in 1962. He served in the Military after high school graduation.

Prayer

Scripture He turned his life over to God at an early age and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Somerville, AL. He was called to preach at the age of 15, and preached his first sermon at the age of 16, on Easter Sunday, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Somerville, AL. He also pastored at Providence Baptist Church in Danville, AL, Sand Hill Baptist Church in Priceville, AL and a church in Russellville, AL. He was the Vice-Moderator of Flint River Baptist Association. He retired from Dan’s Trucking Company in Madison, AL. After retiring he owned Orr’s Lawn Service until he became disabled.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Quincy Patterson. He leaves to cherish his memory: four sons, Myron Howard Orr (Carla), Gerald Orr (Jauton) and Paul Howard Orr, all of Decatur, Cary Wendell Orr (Debra) of Harvest, AL; three daughters, Paula Jones (Anthony) of Decatur, Jessica Ann Nelson (Omar) of Huntsville, AL and Tamekia Orr of Olive Branch, MS; three brothers, Donald Lee Orr (Doris) of Huntsville, AL, Luther Speak Orr (Verenda) of Nashville, TN and Big Brother, James Gurley of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Dorothy Orr of Somerville, AL; one aunt, Roxie Gurley of Somerville, AL; one uncle, Jimmie Lee Orr of Danville, AL; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, cousins, and friends.
