2015 SAMPLER Quilts Plus 2015 Sampler has two new color ways to choose from featuring pinwheel blocks in your choice of solids or romantics. This 12 month program meets as follows: 2nd Monday of each month at 10:15, 1:30 or 3:30. We will be demonstrating options for construction at each session. If the scheduled times are not convenient, or you prefer not to come to a meeting at all, you may pick up your block any time after the 2nd Monday of each month – or we can set up a program to mail your blocks to you. 9° Tree Skirt Create a beautiful 50” Christmas Tree Skirt using the 9° Circle Wedge Ruler. This double inverted chevron quilt uses varying sizes of strips to give it a unique look. Christmas Trip Around the World Pack up your sewing machine and take a "Quick Trip" with Eleanor! Quick Trip Quilts is a strip pieced pattern with three layouts. The traditional "Quick Trip" is based on a "Trip Around the World" format. The patterns are easy enough for a beginner but will challenge seasoned quilters to achieve just the perfect effect for an inspiration quilt. Eleanor's technique for this quilt is fun and so easy that it is truly a "Quilt in a Day." Let your personality shine through in your quilt with fabric selection and placement. Yardage and cutting charts are included for all five-quilt sizes with bonus instructions to make table runners from your scraps. IN-STORE QUILT RETREAT!! We will supply the pattern, fabric of your choice, food, snacks and fun. You get to sew! Make the great quilt on display at Quilts Plus in a weekend. (You will be precutting prior to the retreat!) This was the quilt from our first Mystery Retreat. (The Mystery Retreat happens every March at the Radisson Hotel.) CUSTOM CLASSES AVAILABLE While most of our classes are project driven, we are now offering you the ability to tailor a class to suit your needs. If you need help with quilt or binding—we’re your girls; if you want to make a special gift—we’re your girls; if you want to learn more home decorating ideas, tips or techniques—we’re your girls; if you’ve always wanted to learn to paper piece—we’re your girls; if there is a certain bag that’s giving you fits— we’re your girls. The cost for this would be $20 for a day from 10 to 3. Arrangements for a Custom Class would have to be made in advance, and there are some days this option is not possible. Give us a call at (269) 383-1790 to discuss the possibilities. DANCING WREATHS 76” x 76”. This quilt of flying geese wreaths is made from 2-1/2” strips and a background fabric. The scalloped edge finishes it off for an elegant look. If your strip set has twenty fabrics with a repeat, this will work very well. You will need at least 16 repeats, so it can require two strip sets. Instructor: Amber (3 sessions 10-3) DATES: Tuesday, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1 DIAMOND LOG CABIN TREE SKIRT Eleanor Burns and Frieda Harrod have combined efforts to create a quick and impressive version of this traditional pattern. Their construction of the Diamond Log Cabin is based on quick assembly-line sewing and strip piecing methods from the Quilt in a Day® Log Cabin book. However, the design is taken one step further with rotary cutting on a 60 degree line. Make an impressive skirt for your tree. The approximate size is 74" across center. Care and maintenance of the featherweight is co-taught by Bill Behrman, and Steve. This "hands on" class teaches disassembling and cleaning each area of the machine. INTERLOCKING CHAINS 54” X 66”. This striking quilt from the book, “New Ways with Jelly Rolls” by Pam and Nicky Lintott, is quick to piece, but a bit like a jigsaw puzzle when you come to sew the blocks together. The quilt looks impressive and is definitely worth the extra attention. Even though our chains are scrappy, it’s very important to have two distinct color groups so the interlocking circles can be clearly seen. The bonus is…using the left over pieces and an additional 3 yards of fabric, you have a pieced back. Christmas Trip Around the World Pack up your sewing machine and take a "Quick Trip" with Eleanor! Quick Trip Quilts is a strip pieced pattern with three layouts. The traditional "Quick Trip" is based on a "Trip Around the World" format. The patterns are easy enough for a beginner but will challenge seasoned quilters to achieve just the perfect effect for an inspiration quilt. Give us a call at (269) 383-1790 to discuss the possibilities. DANCING WREATHS 76” x 76”. This quilt of flying geese wreaths is made from 2-1/2” strips and a background fabric. The scalloped edge finishes it off for an elegant look. If your strip set has twenty fabrics with a repeat, this will work very well. You will need at least 16 repeats, so it can require two strip sets. Their construction of the Diamond Log Cabin is based on quick assembly-line sewing and strip piecing methods from the Quilt in a Day® Log Cabin book. However, the design is taken one step further with rotary cutting on a 60 degree line. Make an impressive skirt for your tree. The approximate size is 74" across center. INTERLOCKING CHAINS 54” X 66”. This striking quilt from the book, “New Ways with Jelly Rolls” by Pam and Nicky Lintott, is quick to piece, but a bit like a jigsaw puzzle when you come to sew the blocks together. The quilt looks impressive and is definitely worth the extra attention. Even though our chains are scrappy, it’s very important to have two distinct color groups so the interlocking circles can be clearly seen. The bonus is…using the left over pieces and an additional 3 yards of fabric, you have a pieced back.
