October/November 2015

From the Desk of Pastor Phil Many of you were aware that Danita and I were away the first part of October to hold revival services in Carey, Ohio. I want to thank those of you were were praying for our time there. God showed up and did some amazing things during those days. On Wednesday night I spoke on "Moving God From the House to the City" as a biblical blue print for positioning the Church to be a catalyst in seeking our communities transformed. I won't take the time to "preach" the message here, but here were the highlights:

October 11 Step Number One -- Ensure that we've got God in the House. Christmas Program Practice Begins Step Number Two -- More celebration October 17 YMCA Football Banquet Movie: Facing the Giants October 28 Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat October 31 Preteen Sunday School Class Service Project November 8 Book Club November 22 Church Family Thanksgiving

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30

Step Number Three -- More sacrifice Step Number Four -- More worship Step Number Five -- Have an increased awareness of the needs of those around us and be faithful to do our part to meet those needs. Those steps are not original. Each one can be found in the account of David moving the Ark of the Covenant from the home of Obed Edom to the City of David (2 Samuel 6). One aspect of this passage grips my heart: David wanted to be a blessing to those around him. Part of our worship is to bless others – Especially our family. He took time to meet people’s needs. The nation had gone on a long journey. When they arrived back David provided them with meat, bread, and raisin cakes. We live in a world of needs. To be used of God in this next move of God we need to look for ways to meet the needs of others. We are making a concerted effort as a Church to identify needs in our community and by the grace of God meet those needs. We so appreciate your faithfulness as your stand with us. together we are impacting our corner of the world for the cause of Christ. Pastor Phil
