A prospect may take a maximum of five official visits with no more than one permitted to any single institution. A prospect may not take an official visit until the first day of classes of their senior year of high school. The following must be submitted to the compliance office in order for an official visit to be approved: 1. Permission to Host form (with each field completed) 2. Transcript 3. Test Score(s) 4. Prospect must be registered with the NCAA Initial Eligibility Center The following three items must be submitted to the business office after the official visit is complete: 1. Meal and Entertainment form with Receipts 2. Prospect Declaration Form 3. Tracking Form 4. Itinerary -‐ A prospect on an official visit may be provided with three meals per day, and a reasonable snack in addition to the three meals. The meals must be comparable to those provided to student-‐athletes during the academic year. Meals must take place within 30 miles of campus. -‐Student Hosts must obtain and retain all receipts. -‐ Institutional staff members, including non-‐coaches and faculty members, may be provided with meals during official visits if they eat with a prospect on campus or within 30 miles of campus. A meal may be held at the home of an institutional staff member on one occasion during an official visit, provided the entertainment is not excessive in nature. -‐ Any member of the athletic department staff or their spouse may provide ground transportation for a prospect and the prospects parents or legal guardians between campus and the airport.

YOUR ONE STOP SHOP FOR ANSWERS! Q: When can I begin mailing recruiting materials to prospects? A: Bylaw 13.4.1 prohibits mailing of recruiting materials or general correspondence related to athletics to any prospective student athlete until September 1 of the prospects junior year of high school. For men’s basketball, correspondence must wait until June 15 at the end of the prospect’s sophomore year of high school. Q: What do I need to know about Walk-On Tryouts? A: Guidelines for Walk-On Tryouts Before a walk-on tryout, ensure that all participants are admitted to the U of U, enrolled full-time, and cleared by the athletic training staff prior to the tryout General policies pertaining to tryouts: • A walk-on tryout can last no longer than three days. If you would like to have a tryout that is longer than three days, you must add the tryout participants to your official roster • The participants may not receive clothing or equipment of any kind. • The tryout must occur on or after the first day of Fall semester • and during your declared Playing and Practice season (i.e. your 20-hour season; not your off-season)
