47th RIMS Southeastern Educational Conference
Omni Grove Park Inn, Asheville, North Carolina September 26 – 28, 2016
Welcome to Asheville Scared? Who you gonna call? Risk Busters! Welcome to our 47th Annual RIMS Southeastern Educational Conference! The Carolinas Chapter of the Risk
and Insurance Management Society, Inc. plans to provide a hauntingly memorable experience here at the Grove Park Inn, a break from the routine scary risks that we see in our day to day routine.
Our inspiration for this year's theme is the mysterious Pink
Lady. Reportedly a frequent guest at The Omni Grove Park Inn, she has been seen, felt and experienced by hotel
employees and guests for more than a half century, even by some of those attending last year. Little was known about
the Pink Lady - just a swirl of stories about a young woman dressed in pink who fell to her death in the Palm Court atrium around 1920. We will delve more into the
happenings, just attend the sessions in our safe zone to learn more! In case you are too frightened to take notes, our presentations may be accessed on the Carolinas RIMS website after the conference.
Make sure that you view the list of Specters (Sponsors and Exhibitors), without whom we would not be able to conduct this "boo"tiful conference. Never heard of the Pink Lady? Not to worry, we have seasoned risk busters for networking opportunities throughout the haunted mansion.
If you come upon one of our special "guests", risk management students from Appalachian State University, the University of North Carolina – Charlotte, and the University of South Carolina, please share your experience and techniques with them. Don’t want to have anyone lost in the woods, or the basement, or on the fourth floor!
On behalf of the paranormal guides that have been planned this exciting adventure, we welcome you to Asheville and look forward to a rewarding experience.
