Opportunity Profile Student Ministry Director

About The Position ... Woodcrest Church is looking for a full-time Student Ministry Director. This person will be the strategic overseer for the student ministry (grades 6-12) that is vital to the health of the congregation. By leading and equipping the students in the areas of worship, outreach, discipleship, fellowship and service, this person will have great impact in the lives of students and their families as well as the entire congregation.

About The Person We Are Looking For ... Woodcrest envisions an individual who is mature in their faith, who models a spiritually disciplined life and who is truly dependent upon God for life and ministry—faithful, open, honest, humble, secure, consistent and teachable. We value highly an individual who loves God and loves students, and demonstrates this with enthusiasm and energy! We are asking God to provide an individual who has a unique ability to relate to students and their families. We see this individual with the ability to lead in student ministry design, development and implementation. They must posses leadership gifts to be used in the recruiting and training of volunteer staff. They must be available to counsel students and families in need, sharing God’s love with them. Most importantly they must hold high the value of God’s Word and communicate clearly, confidently and in a compelling way, life truths from Scripture in large and small group settings.

Additional Requirements & Responsibilities ... Woodcrest requires that the Student Ministry Director be a Church Member in good standing and annually subscribe to the statement of faith, purpose, vision, values and covenant of the church. The individual will also strive to meet the Biblical standards for a church leader (1 Timothy 3:1-7), be a proportionate giver with tithing as a requirement, and support evangelical theology for which Woodcrest Church stands. The Student Ministry Director will report to the Senior Pastor and assist him as requested in the development of the overall church ministry. This position will require a team player who coordinates student ministry with other ministry team leaders and church staff.

Life can be difficult for many adolescents. Students are placed in environments where they are being pulled in multiple directions and being battered by multiple messages every day. The Organization—Woodcrest Church In 1992, Woodcrest was created as a daughter church of Wooddale Church, an evangelical ministry in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In the fall of 2016, the church celebrated its twenty-fourth year, with Pastor Pete Parker currently serving as senior pastor. Today, the community of Woodcrest Church includes approximately 300 families. The two contemporary style Sunday worship services draw approximately 250 people each week. The current worship center seats up to 330 people and the recent Generations Wing houses around 100 children and students each Sunday. Currently, Woodcrest consists of a five member ministry staff team with a Senior Pastor, W orship Director, Interim Student Director, Children’s Ministry Director, and a Nursery Coordinator. The ministry of these staff are complimented with a part-time office manager, a part-time bookkeeper, a part-time custodian and part-time facilities associate. Along with these paid staff, more than twenty ministry teams give overall leadership and service to dozens of ministries including: small groups, men’s & women’s ministries, outreach, fellowship, missions, Stephen Ministry, MOPS, prayer, stewardship, greeters/ushers and others.

Woodcrest has been blessed with beautiful and efficient ministry facilities, The original 20,000 square building, constructed in the fall of 2000, is home to the worship center, adult education space, the Woodcrest Café and the main office area. In November of 2008, construction was completed on an 18,000 square foot addition: The Generations Wing. This area is home to the church’s children and student ministries.

The Community Woodcrest is located in the city of Eagan, Minnesota. Located in the southeastern section of the greater Minneapolis—Twin Cities area, Eagan is a home to great neighborhoods, schools and businesses. With its convenient location, you are just a short drive from the Mpls./St. Paul International Airport, The Mall of America and the downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul, where you will find a variety of entertainment options including four professional sports teams and a variety of other cultural experiences.
