Before School Interventions The current before school interventions will continue for the next two weeks after half term. More groups of children will then start for interventions which will run until the second week in January. Parents of the children who will be offered places in the new groups will be informed after half term. Please remember that interventions are for all abilities and are tailored for the needs of the group. Examples include: improving sentence structure, mental arithmetic, handwriting, additional challenge, working under time pressure, spelling. Team Theme Dodge Ball Team Theme Dodge Ball will run for 6 weeks, starting on Friday, 11th November. Details will be sent out on the Monday after half term.
If anyone needs to contact me I will be in and around school on Monday to Wednesday next week so do feel free to email me if you need to. Some of the children from Year 1 who enjoyed the visit from the Outreach Worker from Knowsley Safari Park who brought a selection of small animals (Gary the large snail, a stick insect, a hissing cockroach and a centipede). Pictured is a rather colourful milk snake.
Church Harvest Service Children in Years 1 – 6 will be attending Ormskirk Parish Church tomorrow (Friday, 28th October) to celebrate Harvest. The service will start at 9.00 am and the children will need to be in church for 8.50 am. Please can children bring some money for the collection. Parents/carers are very welcome to join us. Thank you for all your donations of Harvest gifts which will be taken to the Ecumenical Centre for distribution to local people in need. Thank you.
School will finish for the half term on Friday, 28th October at usual school finishing times. We hope you all have an enjoyable half term week. School will re-open on Monday, 7th November.
Absence from School If your child is absent from school please contact the school office on the first day of absence (before 9.15 am) and send a letter to the class teacher on the first day your child returns to school. School Photographs Tempest photograph orders need to be with the school office before lunchtime tomorrow.
Dinner Money/Out of School Club Payments Please can all outstanding dinner money be paid and any outstanding overdue Out of School Club accounts also be brought up to date before we finish for the half term. Thank you.

If you haven’t already downloaded the School Gateway app perhaps this is something you can do over the half term holiday. Not only will you be able to pay or book out of school club places but this system will also allow us to communicate by text and email. PFA News Get Your Act Together -Talent Showcase – 7th December, Children will get to see the performance during the school day and parents will be invited to the evening performance.
This term we also have: Christmas Gift Sale – 2nd December during the school day. Children will have the opportunity to buy gifts for their family and friends. We will need shopkeepers on the day for this one. Christmas Coffee Morning – 19th December, 9am – A chance for a mince pie and a chat while we are entertained by the children’s performances. Operation Christmas Child If you would still like to support this worthy cause and help make a child happy this Christmas please send in a packed shoebox into school the first day back after half-term Monday, 7 November. Parents of Year 6 children – please remember that the deadline for application for admission to secondary school (if you have not already made your application) closes on Monday, 31st October.
