Principal Focus: Grow passionate faith in God and caring relationships in Christ. Manage Our Saviour's Faith Formation Ministries to ensure excellence of Christian education for adults, youth and children. Oversee the Pastoral Care and Stewardship teams to promote a culture of both heartfelt care and generous giving. Regular Duties: Successfully manage Faith Formation opportunities throughout the Our Saviour’s community. Manage the growth and learning possibilities for adults. Gain the confidence of lay leaders to allow strong, innovative lay leadership within the church mission. Build a small group culture which becomes a way of life within the congregation. Effectively oversee the Children, Family, and Youth Ministries to ensure engagement and growth in faith for the young people of Our Saviour’s and their families. Demonstrate an ongoing interest in new developments in Christian Education and a willingness to introduce new ideas to the Our Saviour’s community. Preach regularly. Inspire and motivate through preaching. Effectively collaborate with the Sr. Pastor and Executive Team. Demonstrate meaningful participation in Worship planning. Oversee Our Saviour’s Pastoral Care staff providing heartfelt support to members and friends in difficult times. Manage, inspire and motivate Faith Formation, Pastoral Care and Stewardship staff members to successfully meet goals. Oversee hiring and recruitment of Faith Formation, Pastoral Care, and Stewardship staff and volunteers. Ensure staff member goals are in place, and timely and substantive performance reviews are performed. Proactively address and resolve performance issues. Occasional Duties: Liaison with fundraising teams Involvement in other pastoral duties
Skills and Requirements: Strong Christian faith and understanding of Lutheran theology Master of Divinity, ordained in the ELCA 3+ years of experience preferred Effective preaching skills which motivate and inspire Goal and results oriented Ability to work independently, yet collaborate in team environment Build teams and mentor leaders Welcoming, caring spirit and at ease in large groups Comfortable with technology or willing to learn Ability to address and diffuse conflict Team oriented, collaborative, curious Strong influential skills Customer service mentality Listening and responsive to congregation members Willing to work on weekends and evenings
