Palisade on Wheat July 22, 2014 – Dennis Bischer This year we did a number of trials with a new product for wheat called Palisade. Palisade shortens the wheat plant and makes the stem thicker, thereby reducing lodging. In these trials we increased the nitrogen rate, to try and increase yields, and applied Palisade to prevent lodging that is often caused by high rates of nitrogen. The Palisade applications did prevent the wheat from lodging. In some applications plant height was reduced by 3 to 4 inches and in other applications we saw little to no difference in plant height. Below is a picture of a field that had a significant reduction in plant height from the Palisade application.
