Reflections of His Life

Reverend Elizabeth Wine, Presiding “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:4-5

Prelude

When I am gone, release me, let me go.

Processional

I have so many things to see and do, You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years.

Hymn of Praise ................................................................. Valarie Samuels

Scripture Readings ............................................ Reverend Elizabeth Wine

I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you've given me in happiness. Westley Melviauté Bell, 17, was born May 20, 1999 in Columbia, South Carolina to Shundrigous Harris-Thompson and Melvin Bell, Jr. He went home and was received in heaven on Monday, March 13, 2017. Westley was a student at A.C. Flora High School. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and football. As Westley grew into a young man, he became responsible enough to work with the Pizza Hut Corporation; and, before his departure, he was employed with Wendy’s. “West”, as he was known by his family and throughout the community, was so humorous and full of personality. He always would keep you laughing because he was so witty. There was never a dull moment when he was around. “West” leaves to mourn his passing, his mother and stepfather, Shundrigous and Patrick Thompson; his father, Melvin Bell, Jr.; his grandmothers, Serivia Whetstone and Helen Bell, and great-grandmother of whom he was very fond, Westley Harrison; grandfathers, Timothy Harris, Sr. and Deacon Melvin (Jackie) Bell, Sr.; step-grandparents, John and Trina Thompson; brothers, Terry Johnson and Suejon Thompson of the home; aunts: Krystal (Aaron Jones), Tanzy Reese, Felicia Bell Goodman and Tecarla Dunmore; uncles, Darrell (Tanya) Whetstone and Timothy (Kionnis) Harris, Jr.; cousins: Brittany Harrison, Aaron Jones, Jr., Darri Whetstone King and Legend and Royal Harris of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

I thank you for the love that you have shown,

That it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on.

And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near

Final Farewell to Our Beloved “West” .................. Bostick-Tompkins Staff (in the vestibule)

And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".
