Since my child has joined this September he has begun to enjoy going to school, and is even motivated to do his homework on the day it is set. He now enjoys every lesson and has been given the opportunity to stand up in front of an audience to debate for English, something he would never have tried before he started causeway. The extra-curricular clubs are fantastic and has given him such a choice after school and at lunchtime and the fact that they have a breakfast area that he can go to early in the morning as he has to be dropped off early is excellent and they even serve toast and drinks for free and he can read the newspaper before he starts school.my son loves football and the school has an excellent football club with its of opportunities to train and play other teams. The information after each term sent to me in the post is very informative, I have even had a telephone call from his maths teacher letting me know how he is getting on. I cannot praise the school enough the teachers have all been enthusiastic and have clearly had an impact on my son and his learning.

Very caring school in my experience, exceeded my expectations. Great communication between teachers and parents. My child is happy at this school and that's what counts to me. The reason I put choice of subjects available as improvement was only because my son would like to do D.T but I think that comes later in year 8 or 9.

The school thinks about all aspects of the student, not just the education so developing their full potential. I like the idea of student’s best work being displayed or published, not just the best student’s work. Vertical tutoring has been one of the best things happened within school. Parental involvement has improved drastically over the past 2 years.

We think that this school is doing very well overall, but I have a particular bugbear and that is school uniform. My child always wears the correct uniform but I think the standard of uniform has gone down hill recently. I see girls wearing leggings to school, they are so tight, this is NOT standard uniform. Boys also wear very tight leg trousers. Pupils going home from school without their blazers on. Different coloured socks and not standard shoes. This all goes to give the impression that the Causeway School does not have any standards and I have heard remarks from members of the public that seems to think that because these standards of dress are allowed to go unnoticed that this reflects on the school as a whole. I know that the education of our children is the number one priority but instilling pride in yourself and the school that you go to, are important too. I have seen a school up north that will not tolerate any deviation from the standard school uniform and enforce it vigorously. This is possible. It only needs one pupil to wear something different and if they are allowed to continue with it, then more will follow. Please try and enforce the school uniform and bring back some smartness. Thank you.

We could not be happier with our choice of school. The causeway school & its staff are in my opinion outstanding. I have only ticked levels of homework as requiring improvement as the survey required me to give an answer.

There has been a lot of supply staff in several key subject areas. The same teachers have not taught the subject . They have had a teacher for a couple of months and then changed teachers. This was in key areas in particular maths and for year 11 students when consistent teaching ,I feel is imperative. The problem has now been resolved but it has not been good. The staff overall have been extremely caring and positive in my experience and my daughter in year 11 has very much enjoyed her time at The Causeway and does not want to leave. The resources are good and the Library has been much utilised by my daughter.
