Parking at Freeman Park
Parking at Freeman Park Parking space at Freeman Park can be very challenging and the City of Shorewood has required Tonka United to allow ample access for emergency vehicles in the event of an emergency (e.g. ambulance or paramedics in the event of serious injury). In order to make the Tonka Splash experience better for all participants we wanted to inform you of the following items: • • •

Families are strongly encouraged to carpool to limit the number of cars at the park. Remote parking is available at Minnewashta Elementary (on Smithtown Road – see map). Teams can park there and carpool and/or shuttle to Freeman Park. Tonka United teams are requested to have no more than 3 cars per team parked at Freeman. Please work with your families to carpool from home or park at Minnewashta and carpool or shuttle family members in from there. Parking will only be allowed in designated areas. Drivers who park illegally will be ticketed and will run the risk of being towed at the driver’s expense. Coming out of Freeman Park, drivers will not be allowed to turn right onto Eureka Road to get to Route. 7. All cars will be required to turn left and proceed down to Smithtown Rd. From Eureka Road, drivers can turn right to proceed to Route 19 toward downtown Excelsior or turn left to proceed to Route 7. There will be NO PARKING on Eureka Road. Cars will be ticketed and/or towed at driver’s expense. Pets are not allowed at Freeman Park. Please leave your pets at home or with a friend. You will be asked to remove your pet from the park

• Additional parking is available at Minnewashta Elementary school. Participants are encouraged to park there and carpool over to Freeman Park. • Tonka United teams are requested to have no more than 3 cars per team at Freeman Park at one time

Drivers will not be allowed to turn right out of Freeman Park. This is to avoid traffic concerns pulling out on to Rt. 7
Parking available in parking lots near main pavilion and baseball fields located in back of park. DO NOT PARK ON GRASS OR ALONG ROAD!!
PLEASE NOTE: • No parking on grass or along drive in Freeman Park • Police will be issuing tickets to people parked illegally • Cars parked illegally run the risk of being towed at driver’s expense DO NOT PARK ON GRASS OR ALONG ROAD!!
