Pat’s Block of the Month Quilt Layout Approx. Size 68” x 90” (4 blocks by 6 blocks) Fabric Requirements: 1 ¾ yard Frames, Cornerstone & Binding - Black 1 yard Sashing 2 ¾ yard Outer Border – Border Stripe 5 2/3 yard backing Frame 24 Blocks Cut borders lengthwise first then subcut crosswise Cut three 13” x WOF strips – subcut into forty-eight 2” x 13” segments Cut two 10 ½” x WOF strips – subcut into forty 2” x 10 ½” segments Cut remaining eight 2” x 10 ½” segments from remainder of 13” strip Cut thirty-five 1 ½” x 1 ½” cornerstones from remaining fabric Cut to a consistent size – I squared my blocks to 11” square Sashing Cut three 11” x WOF strips – subcut into fifty-eight 1 ½” x 11” segments Inner Border Cut ten 1” x WOF fabric strips Outer Border Fussy cut border stripe ¼” above green tape measure & at bottom of white segment Binding Cut ten 2 ½” x WOF strips Attach inner border to outer border and miter as one border
