Pause #1 “Forty-One Days” Two Truths About Temptation:

#1. With Temptation There Is Always More At STAKE Than You Might Think #2. Your Ability To Resist Temptation Depends On Your Willingness To TRUST God. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. Matthew 3:16- 4:2 “tempted” Greek

πειραζω “pirad’zo” – also translated as “test”

From The Text:

• Temptations Help To REFINE And DEFINE Our Character • Temptation Always Begin In The SOLITUDE Of Our Mind “Temptation is not the penalty of been human, it is the glory of being human. It is the test which comes to those whom God wishes to use.” ~William Barclay~

Jesus Did Not Come Simply To Pay For Your Sin Jesus Died And Rose Again To Break The Power Of Sin In Your Life The Three Temptations:

#1. To Meet A Legitimate NEED In A Illegitimate Way. #2. To Use God To Accomplish Our Own AGENDA. #3. To Do The Right Thing But In The WRONG Way (Take A Shortcut).

What Is At Stake?

• Your FUTURE • Your FAMILY • Your FAITH
