November/December 2014

Dear Friends, We are all getting into the holiday mood at the shop. Things quickly start to get overwhelming, so we have a plan to help you with the speed bumps you may have on your journey through the giving season. We have our regular 60 minute classes scheduled for the basic necessities of borders, binding, backing, simple quilting and finishing. If you need more help, or if your problem doesn’t fit into one of these categories, we are offering individualized help sessions tailored to your needs. When you call to schedule a time with one of us, we need to know specifically the scope of the problem and what you wish to accomplish. These sessions, which will last from 60 to 90 minutes, can be held any day or time, but you need to isolate your problem so that one of us will have time to prepare. These sessions are free, so define your problem and give us a call. We are also setting up a demo corner in the shop showcasing quick and simple gift ideas for your gift giving. These gifts will be doable by most sewists, including beginners. Some will feature online patterns and some will require pattern purchase. We will give you different gift ideas for that quilting friend, teacher, neighbor or hard-to-please teenager. Most can be accomplished with fabrics you have on hand, or by using precuts. We also offer the use of our studio Accuquilt cutter which can cut jelly roll strips, charm or layer cake squares. If you have purchased your fabrics from us, the use of the cutter is free. Just schedule a time. Come in and see the beautiful new Block Of The Month, Color Love, which begins in November. This quilt can be done as a completely pieced quilt, or with the purchase of precut, prefused applique blocks, as a combination of quilting and applique. We also have openings in our Modern Building Blocks skill-building sessions which will begin in November. Come and sew with us.
