Application Usage All PGC5000A Master Controllers can be upgraded with a new touch screen front panel. Description Along with the Version 3.0.3.X software package, the local user interface of the PGC5000 can be upgraded to a touch screen user interface. A new controller front door panel equipped with a touch screen directly replaces the existing controller housing front panel. Installation Software Upgrade The PGC5000 V3.0.3.X software upgrade is included with the touch screen hardware. Installation of this software is required for the installation and operation of the touch screen panel. New features and benefits of V3.0.3.X include the following: — Local and remote chromatogram reprocessing — EZ-Peak component integration algorithm — Additional language translations — Touch screen user interface support If the PGC5000 is running Version 4, the upgrade is not to be performed; the software is already resident for the touch screen installation. PGC5000A Master Controller Touch Screen Front Panel The PGC5000A controller front panel will be replaced with a
new front panel equipped with a touch screen. This is a direct replacement of the existing front panel hardware and is delivered with all hardware required for the installation and connection to the existing master controller and electronics. In addition to the integrated mouse keypad, this hardware upgrade provides the user a 12 inch graphical, SVGA touch screen with multi-touch control for redundant methods of analyzer navigation at the local analyzer interface. Summary Version Compatibility PGC5000A Master Controllers with older software are upgraded with the PGC5000 software V3.0.3.X. Version 4 PGC5000 upgrade is not required. Availability The upgrade kit, including a new front panel equipped with a touch screen and the PGC5000 software Version 3.0.3.X upgrade, is available through your local ABB sales and service networks. Using the PGC5000 series with Version 3.0.3.X software, maintenance is optimized and coordinated with efficient and lower cost of plant operation. All routine maintenance activities can be planned without a loss in plant production and critical analysis backup is engineered with independent ovens to significantly increase reliability and uptime for all applications.
