Inspiration to Beat Winter Blues Low temperatures, high power bills, short days, long faces. Yes, winter is here. Most of us don’t enjoy enforced hibernation so here are some tips to stave off the winter blues.
Where Time is of the Essence
Get Creative Bad weather means more time indoors. As tempting as it may be to watch television all day, a life lived watching others can be a bit dull!
7 Erangi Place, Bethells Beach
Get creative and try something new. Could you re-cover your dining room chairs? Make a coffee table? Could you impress guests with made-fromscratch, homemade Italian pasta? Mmm-mmm!
Review Your Bills & Save Telcos and power companies are competing fiercely with new and better deals being offered all the time. Winter is a good time to shop around and save hundreds of dollars.
If you’re in need of inspiration join Pinterest—the mecca of on-line ideas, inspiration and innovation.
Stay Active If you still need motivation to crawl from under the duvet, join an indoor sports team, fitness class or the gym. Regular exercise boosts feel-good brain chemicals like serotonin and improves sleep quality too.
Fatigue Fighting Food Chilly evenings call for comfort food— often warm, greasy favourites, highly processed and loaded with sugar. Although they provide instant happiness (hence the term “comfort food”) they only make you feel sluggish in the long run. Opt instead for complex carbohydrates that take longer to digest. Whole grains, spinach, broccoli and beans will keep you full for longer, and well-nourished.
Mid-Winter Getaway With the extra cash saved on your power bill, and the additional energy gained from staying active, explore a part of the country you’ve never seen before. There are plenty of mid-winter accommodation bargains to be found on-line.

Attract Stronger Buyer Interest Offering potential buyers the upfront reassurance of a building inspection report can encourage stronger interest from the outset. If selling by auction it could attract more bidders reluctant to fork out for their own report in the event they Continued…

Defects Must be Disclosed By Law Note that if a property has previously failed a building inspection, a salesperson is obligated by law to disclose this fact, and the reasons why, to future buyers. Accreditation Recommended Finally, whether buying or selling, use an accredited building surveyor who has professional indemnity insurance. Although accreditation is not mandatory it offers assurance that the report conforms to the NZ Property Inspection Standards; in essence, a comprehensive checklist to ensure nothing is missed.
