Pike Alumni Dominate Cit yLeague Ski Racing! CityLeague is the country's largest team racing program, comprised of over 100 teams and over 1,000 Seattle area skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers. Six leagues at Alpental and Summit West ski areas (50 miles east of Seattle) compete in a six-week series, running from January through early March. Each team member races opponents on other teams of equal speed and ability. Teams are
made up of mixed ability skiers and can have up to 12 members. Six members on each team race each week and are "pre-paired" prior to racing. Racers ski two runs each. It's drag racing at its best!
Xi Alumni Jarrod Kleweno (‘90), Gregg Slosson (‘91) and Chuck Pinnell (‘94) race for the Legion of Doom, on Thursday nights.
Gamma Xi Alumni Matt Edwards ('82), Dan Studer ('92) and Gamma Mu Alumni Barry Zamzow ('88) participate on the Bamboo Bashers Team, which races on Friday nights, while Gamma

through August 31, 2013. The conditions were the result of a number of WSU student conduct policy violations during the 2011/2012 school year and the resulting loss of Gamma Xi’s recognition with the university until at least August 2017. Since October 10th, when the conditions were imposed, the Chapter has accomplished the following: 1. On October 18th, introduced Ed Murphy as a the new live-in Alumni Advisor.
3. On October 29th, the Alumni Advisory Board appointed new Chapter Officers. 4. On October 31st, the first monthly update newsletter was distributed. 5. On November 12th, new Alumni Advisory Board Members were elected. 6. On November 15th, a revised New Member Education program was established. 7. On November 30th, a revised Risk Awareness/Crisis Management Plan was created. 8. Also on November 30th, updated Chapter Bylaws were submitted to the International

Fraternity. 9. On December 15th, a new Public Relations program was implemented. 10. On December 16th, the AAB and Undergrad Exec Officers convened a 2013 Goal Setting Retreat. 11. Happy Holida ys from Pi Kappa Alpha! Happy Holidays from the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity and Gamma Xi Chapter! As we enter 2013, we look back at one of Gamma Xi’s most challenging years. However, we look forward to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. Since December 19, 1929, Gamma Xi has been a valuable and leading member of the Greek System at WSU. Our Founding Fathers include Dean Alfred A. Cleveland (’29), the University’s first Dean of Educa-
tion. Our Brothers include key financial contributors and leaders of WSU, including Phillip M. Lighty (’38), former President Samuel H. Smith (’94) and current Athletic Director Bill Moos (’70). The 1,600+ active and deceased Alumni of Gamma Xi have contributed countless hours of community service, campus involvement and financial support through our 83 year history, and developed men of integrity, intellect, success and high moral

character that continue to foster a truly lifelong fraternal experience. We look forward to the next 83 years at WSU. We wish you, your family and friends a safe holiday season and a new year filled with peace and prosperity. Always remember that we are grateful for the volunteers and alumni who give back to the Fraternity in countless ways to continue our advancement into the future.

Gamma Xi Endowment Surpasses $52K!
Rush Referral
Did you know that the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation has established a restricted endowment fund for Gamma Xi? Currently (as of December 31, 2011), the Foundation manages $1,477,528 restricted to specific Pike chapters. Gamma Xi currently maintains the largest endowment fund with over $52,536. The endowments fund academic and leadership scholarships granted annually to chapters and students for attendance at educational programs under the PIKE University umbrella (e.g., The Academy, Chapter Executives Conference, Leadership Summits and International Convention). Once a specific chapter endowment fund reaches a $10,000 threshold for one fiscal year, the Foundation annually awards 3%-5% of the corpus amount. As the balance grows, so does the size of the grant (e.g., $10,000 at 5% = $500 or $25,000 at 3% = $1,250). The endowments are funded by gifts received to benefit respective chapters specifically through the undergraduate giving society (φφka Club) or any gift received designated by the donor to his respective chapter. You too can support the Gamma Xi endowment fund by making a restricted gift today! Contact the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation to donate or inquire about giving to this important program:
