Finished pillowcase: 30×20" (fits a standard-size bed pillow)
1. Place fusible web, paper side
up, over patterns on page 4. Use a pencil to trace patterns the number of times indicated in cutting instructions, leaving 1 ⁄ 2" between tracings. Cut out drawn shapes roughly 1 ⁄4" outside drawn lines. 2. Following manufacturer’s
instructions, press fusible-web shapes onto wrong side of designated fabrics; let cool. Cut out fabric pieces on drawn lines. Peel off paper backings.
Quantities are for 44/45"-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. Measurements include 1 ⁄ 2" seam allowances for pillowcase construction. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise specified.
From assorted prints, cut: • Two 5"-diameter circles • Eight 3"-diameter circles • Twelve 2"-diameter circles From band print, cut: • 2—6×41" strips From body print, cut: • 1—26×41" rectangle
Cut Fabrics
Appliqué Band
To cut out circle appliqués with AccuQuilt Go! fabric cutter dies, complete the following steps. 1. Place fusible web, paper side
up, on wrong side of designated fabric and press according to manufacturer’s instructions; let cool. 2. Following AccuQuilt Go! fabric
cutter instructions, use die #55012 to cut out the number of circles in sizes indicated in cutting instructions. Peel off paper backing. To cut out circle appliqués with scissors, complete the following steps.
Assemble Pillowcase 1. Fold body print 26×41"
rectangle in half crosswise to form a 26×201 ⁄ 2" rectangle. Sew together long edges and one pair of short edges to make pillowcase body. Turn right side out and press flat. 2. Referring to Diagram 1, slide
pillowcase band over pillowcase body with appliquéd side of band facing pillowcase body; align raw edges and pin. Using 1 ⁄ 2" seam allowance, sew through all layers. 3. Press pillowcase band open,
pressing seam allowances toward pillowcase body. Topstitch on pillowcase body 1 ⁄ 8" from band seam to secure seam allowances and complete pillowcase (Diagram 2).
1. Referring to Band Assembly
Diagram, arrange all circle appliqués atop a print 6×41" strip, trimming excess circles as desired. Fuse in place following manufacturer’s instructions. 2. Place tear-away stabilizer
beneath fused strip. Using matching thread and a small zigzag stitch, stitch around circle appliqués. Press appliquéd strip from wrong side.
Assemble Band
1. Sew together appliquéd and
band print 6×41" strips along a pair of long edges (Band Assembly Diagram). 2. Join short ends of Step 1 unit to
make a loop. Press seam open. Fold loop in half with wrong side inside; press to make pillowcase band.
