DELTA DELTA DELTA: GAMMA SIGMA!
APRIL 2013
The Pine Press The Sarah C. Kulkofsky Award The first awardee of the annual award goes to.... Jeanie Arnold ’13 After a fitting 13 individual nominations from current sisters, it is my extreme pleasure to introduce you to Jeanie Arnold ’13. Here are some of the things Jeanie’s sisters had to say about her:
When asked what winning this award and Tri Delta overall meant to her, Jeanie responded, “I am a big believer in leading by example, so it feels really good to be recognized by my sisters. To me, Delta is a shared bond rather than a shared label, and “I genuinely believe that Jeanie lives what it means to be a Delta...she I’m proud to be a part of something has a heart of gold and would go out so genuine, with so many women who have something so wonderful in of her way for anyone...she is not a conventional “sorority girl” but Delta common.” is not a conventional sorority...I am proud to call her my sister.” “Jeanie immediately established her presence as a welcoming member of the chapter. She is self assured, confident... dependable... relatable, and seems to be able to happily carry on a conversation with any sister, at any time.”

The semester is winding to a close, and the stress from procrastination is almost tangible in the air. Streakers are rollerblading through the library, and it is finally above 60 degrees. Yet for some reason, it does not feel like the semester will end in a mere week. Perhaps it is because it was still snowing less than two weeks ago. Or -more realistically- I’m trying to pretend that graduation is further away because I am nowhere near ready to say goodbye to the wonderful women I have come to know as my sisters over the past few years. Sometimes it is hard to realize how meaningful someone or something is to you until you are saying that farewell. So here’s to never saying goodbye, but instead saying ‘til next time.
“Jeanie is one of the most authentic women in our sorority...She represents to me the uniqueness of Gamma Sigma. She is one of the most dependable sisters I know...and one of the most relatable women. I can only hope that I may have even a portion of the influence on our chapter that she does.”

OFFICER’S CORNER Dearest Delta Alumnae, My name is Cate Gropper and I am serving as Vice President of Public Relations for the year. I am so glad all of you have been reaching out as possible contacts and expressed interest in becoming more involved in the chapter! I am proud to be a figurehead for our chapter, and I would like to share with you some of our recent accomplishments: At the 2013 Greek Awards, we won Best Collaborative Initiative for our work with ΓΦΒ and ΚΚΓ on a party open to the entire campus, to show that it is not just the fraternities who can sponsor night-time events. We also won Best Chapter Initiative for the second year in a row! Hard for others to beat us when Sincerely Yours raised over $42,000 and we were recognized nationally! Needless to say, we were quite happy. Additionally, we were recognized at the LGBTQ Lavender Graduation last Wednesday for our support of the LGBTQ community - not only a chapter first, but we were the only Greek organization to receive this honor. Our attendance at the "G8 Against H8" Basketball Game in February was a driving factor in our recognition. It's been a great year to be a Tri Delta! ...but then again...when isn't it?! DL, Cate
