Pitman Little League Meeting Minutes December 13, 2017

President Tartaglia called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm. Minutes: No previous minutes. Motion was made by Abby Jones to approve the July ‘17 minutes. Second by Mike Sharkey. Minutes approved. Treasurer’s Report: Michael Razze reported that we are in a good position. October 2017 report is available. November 2017 report handed out. Fall Softball deposit was $600. One returned check. A $50 donation was made to Swedesboro-Woolwich Little League for son of Melanie Grubb who has brain tumor. Our total ending balance as of 11/30/17 is $21,567.57 in checking and $5,510.32 in savings. Safety: No Report Fund Raising: Mike R. spoke to Jackie who said she will do this year’s fundraising. Player Agent: Mike Sharkey will renew the Little League website before it expires. Old Business: Review elections and new USA bat standards. Also, Edgemore bathrooms need to be winterized every year. New Business: Dates: Registration - Saturday February 3rd 9am-11am Saturday February 10th 9am-11am Late Registration - Week of 2/12 during February meeting Try outs February 24th Pictures - March 31st Opening Day - April 7, 2018 February meeting date needs to be changed Mike Razze made a motion for a $75 gift card for John Fitzpatrick as a thank you for doing our taxes for free. Todd McConnell made first motion. Mike Sharkey second. All approved. Uniforms: Sarah Boulton is in charged this year. Tony spoke with Sarah about checking out other vendors. Only if saving is significant (ex. $5) will we leave Two-Vics, otherwise we will stay with them. Samples must be provided at registration for children to try on for sizing. Try Outs:
• Mike S. suggested not to use high school gym. Motion was made by Mike S. to look into Total Turf for tryouts. Second by Brain Cressman. All approved. • Mike will look into dates and pricing for Total Turf. • Possibly separate try outs by ages • Wait until after registration and discuss if try outs are needed for majors softball Mike Razze will take care of event permit to use borough hall. Mike will also look into signage for try outs. It was also discussed to post registration and try outs on Facebook page and to send flyers home with school. Todd McConnell brought up possibly using the Dell/Memorial School where there are lights for practices. Tony was told this is not possible because of soccer. Using the field behind the Edgemore field, the high school field, and McBurney with lights was also suggested.
A motion was made by Todd McConnell to adjourn. A second made by Brian Ewe. Motion approved. Meeting was adjourned at 8:32pm. Total meeting time: 27 minutes
