Co-hosted “MP3 Symposium” (03/10 - 03/11) with USDA, EPA & HBHC on lessons-learned, BMPs and on-going review of possible MP3 metrics. Continued engagement with EPA, USDA, and Committee staff on State Managed Pollinator Protection Plans (MP3s). Preliminary Pollinator Risk Assessment Imidacloprid (04/14). Worked with AAPCO to develop and update inventory of MP3s. EPA still reviewing NASDA comments on EPA Proposal to Mitigate Honey Bee Exposure from Acutely Toxic Pesticides (8/15). Monitored President’s budget. Sent NASDA letter on FY2017 Appropriations Priorities (3/10) advocating funding for USDAAPHIS-PPQ, USDA-OPMP, and EPA OPP’s State categorical grants and funding for MP3s. As part of our policy priority on “Federalism & the Regulatory Process,” we are standing up an EPA Steering Committee composed of the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the NASDA Committees of jurisdiction to enhance communication and collaboration between senior EPA officials and the State Departments of Agriculture. Working with EPA and AAPCO WPS WG on implementation issues. Continue to engage with EPA, Committee staff, and impacted stakeholders on outstanding issues regarding Application Exclusion Zone (AEZ), designated representative, and enforcement guidance materials. Letter to House Ag Committee on WPS oversight (03/03). Secretary Witte testified to House Ag Subcommittee on Biotechnology, Horticulture, and Research (04/27) and final QFRs (06/02). Final rule to OMB (08/23). NASDA and key AAPCO C&T WG leads met with OMB on 09/16 to review and discusss concerns included in NASDA comments (1/22). Secretary Witte testified to House Ag Subcommittee on Biotechnology, Horticulture, and Research (04/16) and final QFRs (06/16). Continue to engage with EPA, Committee staff, and impacted stakeholders on potentnial impacts to state lead agencies and regulated community. NASDA comments EPA FRRCC FACA (06/04). Includes broad range of interactions with EPA, Congress, and industry partners. Identified specific areas of concern and submitted comments on: Proposed tolerance revocation for Chlorpyrifos (01/08); FIFRA SAP Process Chlorpyrifos (04/13); Registration Review Imidacloprid (04/14); Letter to MD Governor on FIFRA Review of Neonicotinoids (05/18); Preliminary Ecological Risk Assessment of Atrazine (05/27); Registration Revew Dicamba (05/31); and Registration decision Sulfoxaflor (06/17). Submitted comments on USDA Retrospective Review - Reducing Regulatory Burdens and Utilization of Best Available Science and Biological Control Programs (04/14). Supplemental discussion with AC21 Advisory Committee on MP3 model (06/14). Comments on APHIS-BRS proposed changes to GE organisms (04/21). Comments on FDA Draft EIS and Preliminary Finding of NSI on GE mosquito (05/02). Monitoring HR 1485 (Federal Lands Invasive Species Control, Prevention & Management Act). Scoping additional opportunities through PEAR activities. Working to enhance coordination and collaboration with affiliate organizations (AIA, AASCO, AAPCO, ASPCRO, NPB)
