Biography: The reigning Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, Tonya Cardoza, is currently in her fourth season on North Broad Street pursuing her first Atlantic 10 Title. Coach Cardoza has led the Owls to the NCAA tournament in her first three seasons, advancing to the second round in 2010 and 2011. The Owls program has now reached the NCAA tournament in eight consecutive seasons. On top of earning Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year honors for the Owls' performance last season, Coach Cardoza has also been honored as the Big 5 Coach of the Year every year since her arrival at Temple University. The Owls earned their sixth-straight Big 5 title in her first year with the program, and re-captured the title again last year.
