Organisational Summary Crime Stoppers Victoria (CSV) is an independent not for profit organisation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and managed by a Chief Executive Officer. Crime Stoppers Victoria strives to create a safer community by facilitating the confidential provision of community information to Victoria Police and other law enforcement agencies. This information assists in building police intelligence and in identifying perpetrators of crime or potential crimes. Crime Stoppers Victoria champions a range of crime prevention and detection campaigns by utilising its reputation of community trust and brand recognition and significant media reach.
Position Overview As General Manager - Operations you will be responsible for the day-to-day core operations including management of staff and administrative matters. This includes strategic oversight and growth of the media and marketing programs, community campaigns and engagement, and ensuring all projects and activities are managed within determined timeframes and budgets. The successful applicant will work closely with the CEO and CSV Board and external stakeholders, in particular Victoria Police to contribute to the strategic planning and growth of the organisation.
As a hands-on General Manager you will actively grow Crime Stopper’s profile and presence by continuing to monitor, evaluate and further develop media and marketing opportunities and provide timely evaluation, critical analysis and considered opportunities to the CEO and Board. Fundamental to the role is accuracy, confidentiality and accountability. Accountability and Responsibility
Oversee the day-to-day management of CSV’s office operations, including campaign/event management and interaction with stakeholders, sponsors and partners
Oversee the implementation of key CSV strategies including Fundraising, Marketing & Media Strategies
Work collaboratively with the CEO to proactively identify income sources and develop and implement strategies to attract funding and pro bono support
Provide high quality, timely and proactive advice to the CEO
Identify and initiate relationships with potential media and marketing sponsors and clients
Prepare an annual business plan and budget for approval by the CEO and Board
Manage relevant budgets in line with CSV’s objectives and financial delegations, providing regular reports to the Board of Directors and CEO with regard to the financial, operational and strategic performance of the organisation
Manage and acquit sponsorship and funding agreements
Develop, review and maintain organisational policies and procedures
Manage, support, develop and coach CSV staff including development of performance plans and provision of regular feedback in line with objectives
Maintain safe work practices, and provide and promote an occupational environment that is responsive to the health, safety and welfare needs of all staff
Provide and promote a climate of mutual respect, dignity and fairness free from discrimination, harassment, victimisation, bullying and violence for employees, stakeholders and visitors
Act as and represent CEO if/when required
Decision making
Decision-making regarding the day-to-day operation and administration of the organisation including staff rostering and leave Effective prioritisation of tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and that stakeholder needs are accommodated in a timely and efficient manner.
Proactively and autonomously determine the most appropriate approach to facilitate the resolution of the operational and logistical issues as they arise. Utilise sound common sense and act with integrity

Essential Skills, Attributes and Experience
Broad senior management level experience, preferably in the media/marketing sector or not for profit sector
Demonstrated record in managing and leading people
Knowledge/experience in campaign, media and marketing management
Business acumen and demonstrated knowledge of the effective management of human and financial resources
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers, internal/external stakeholders, sponsors and partners
Proficiency in general business administration and computer literacy Ability to provide high level complex advice and reporting based on sound analytical and conceptual thinking. Sound knowledge of and commitment to CSV’s mission, philosophy and objectives.
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications well regarded
