Poster Design For Conference Presenters

Posters are an important part of conference. They are to share real life examples and accomplishments to the attendees. This is a great opportunity to share with like-minded people in your field. However, do not overlook the importance of the visual design of your poster. Using design principles is key to an effective poster. Plan the size content, and layout o You can find more information on poster specifications on the Presenter Hub. Use a “less is more” design o Leave adequate white space o Convey your message o Use a visual image o Make it readable o Pick fonts carefully o Use color sparingly o Ask colleagues for help

Poster Specifications The poster board surface area is 4’ high and 8’ wide (about 1 inch on each side is the frame, so your poster should be just under 4’ by 8’). See Poster Presenter Preparation Overview in Tools and Resources for more information.
Printing Tips Don't forget that you have to print a poster and bring it to conference! Here are some things to remember:
Leave yourself enough time for printing (could be weeks!) Be sure you are printing the right size (see above).
