Welcome to the Napa Valley Wine Train The Napa Valley Wine Train is a fine dining experience on board a meticulously restored antique train that moves through the world famous vineyards of Napa Valley. We are one of Napa’s most distinctive restaurants. Once on board, guests choose from a seasonal menu and then relax as their selection is prepared to their specifications in one of our on board kitchen cars. Executive Chef, Kelly Macdonald, prides himself on using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. This includes earth friendly produce, humanely raised meats, and line caught or responsibly farmed fish. Guests begin their journey at our Station in the vibrant Oxbow district of downtown Napa. The Train travels north to St. Helena, where the locomotive disconnects and switches to the opposite end of the train and then returns to Napa. Most guests choose packages that allow them to remain on board the Train for the duration of the journey. Guided winery tour packages are also available, allowing guests to disembark at select wineries for personalized tours and tastings.

Vista Dome Car The 1952 Vista Dome car provides our most private dining experience. It is an elevated observation style dining car. Chef Kelly Macdonald dazzles guests with an exquisite multiple course meal prepared in the Vista Dome’s own kitchen. Celebrate the warm California sun or silver moonlight and the best views in the Napa Valley over a glass of fine sparkling wine.
Gourmet Express Package The Gourmet Express package is the quintessential Wine Train experience. In keeping with railroading tradition, guests selecting this option are seated in both the lounge and dining cars. Guests who are assigned to first seating, dine on fresh soup or salad and their choice of entree in the dining car while traveling up the valley. On the return trip, guests enjoy dessert in one of the lounge cars. Those guests with a second seating assignment will be served appetizers in one of the lounge cars while heading up the valley and will enjoy their fresh soup or salad, choice of entree and dessert in one of the dining cars on the return trip. Guests are encouraged to explore the Train and visit the kitchen car to see our chefs in action.
Silverado Car The Silverado Car is an open-air rail car which has been remodeled to be reminiscent of a Hollywood Western. Meals in the Silverado Car are prepared to order in the car’s very own kitchen. Relax with a complimentary glass of Private Label wine or local beer while soaking in the fresh air of Napa Valley. Open weather permitting (May–October)
Wine Tasting Car Guests who visit our beautifully appointed Wine Tasting Car can create a customized tasting by selecting from more than 30 boutique wines. Converse with our knowledgeable wine educator. Describe your tastes and discover new favorites. Wine Tasting is $10 for four tastes of wine.
Winery Tours The Napa Valley Wine Train’s winery tours provide a full Napa Valley experience. All tour guests get an opportunity to ride on our antique train, enjoy a fresh, multiple course meal prepared to order on board, and tour and taste wines at the selected winery.
